When the hell are they gonna reveal it's future??

I had a dream that I came onto TiBB and saw a thread which said Big Brother IS returning. :(

I said January.
It is the 4th, we have a long time to go but for all we know they could give their list of new shows this Saturday or tomomrrow, you never know.
I'm trying not to get my hopes up though.

Do you have a link that says channel5 will Reveal Big Brother's Future In January 2011 please

_Seth 09-01-2011 07:31 PM

^Yeah, actually.

I never saw any proof that C5 were gonna reveal the future of BB.

Glenn. 09-01-2011 10:33 PM

Big Brother isn't coming back. Why would you even want it back? Let it rest now.

Of course - it started badly but ended up brilliantly - loved James and the String Quartet ..... :amazed:

But why would Channel 5 make an announcement if they're not buying it.
If they were they'd have a press release to say "Big Brother is back on channel 5". But if they're not buying they wouldn't need to say anything, nothing's official.

Part of the reason the show became less popular is because it was stretched out past its prime. Let it rest for a few years at least I say.

They're due to announce their schedule for 2011 and what programs they're showing, basically people are just speculating whether Big Brother will be on that list or not

_Seth 10-01-2011 04:23 PM

I've never really known a channel to announce a schedule. I'd have thought they just air random stuff and announce new shows every now and then. =/

Might be because Richard Desmond has only taken over recently, as far as I can tell 5 is still showing pretty much the same programs so maybe he's announcing what shows he's bringing to the channel

Either that or it's bull

MTVN 10-01-2011 04:37 PM

Wiki: With the takeover by Richard Desmond's Northern & Shell Group, major changes and considerable financial investment have been promised by the new owners.[27] The current on-screen identity retains the 'Five' look but continuity announcers use 'Channel Five' and the change is now reflected in programme guides such as Radio Times.

In October 2010, Desmond revealed the station's new look and confirmed its official on-screen identity as "Channel 5" during a press launch attended by a number of starry names such as Roger Daltrey, Matthew Wright, Vanessa Feltz, Peter Andre and Barbara Windsor. Major investment in new programming for 2011 has been promised by Desmond's Northern and Shell Group with an official relaunch as "Channel 5" due onscreen from 2011.[28] Desmond has heavily promoted these changes in his tabloid newspapers, the Daily Express and Daily Star.[29] Desmond unveiled a new logo for Channel 5 with the restored original name "Channel 5" imposed on a red circle, to replace the obsolete "Five" idents"

We'll probably find out when they do this relaunch I think

_Seth 10-01-2011 05:04 PM

I think we'll see advertising near the time of which BB12 would happen.

But I hope it's delayed for 2012.

I just provided two sources and a link in the post I made about a month ago, Jesus Christ.

Again, I said where I got my sources and even other members on the forum know that Channel 5 have been planning on releasing this information since November.

Because they've got a full revamp they're going to reveal what's coming up in the future.

Yep.

DigitalSid 11-01-2011 04:53 PM

From the Private Eye article on exactly how talks ended, I'll be VERY surprised if BB ever airs on C5. (I'll be surprised if it airs on any channel this side of 2015).

Stu 11-01-2011 05:37 PM

If this 'source' is bull and Channel 5 say nothing of Big Brother this month I will be shocked.

Just kidding. Of course they won't say anything. BB is dead for now.

Probably for the best part of this decade.

There is a chance they won't mention Big Brother!

I don't think half of you get this,
No other Broadcaster at the moment is interested in Big Brother, not saying they'll never be when they need a game show, but at the moment they aren't.

Everyone seems to think Channel Five could be the 'hero' to step in and save the show and Richard Desmond and Endemol obviously have spoke and this has shown that there is/was a chance that BB could be brought back.

Channel 5 are definitely releasing a list of new shows sometime this month as a way to start their 'New and Improved' channel.

If Big Brother isn't on their list then any chance or hope it had of returning is clearly dead for now, because the one channel that could of saved it, didn't in the end.

So yeah, There's a chance Channel 5 will say nothing of Big Brother this month [or for a very long while for all we know].

But if then there's a chance they will include Big Brother amongst their list of new shows.

bananarama 11-01-2011 06:54 PM

I still think BB is dead in the water........For ever. If CH5 was interested we would have heard exited leaks by now. I am of the school of thought that CH5 will simply not mention it in any shape or form........

P.S. I hope I am wrong.....

No we wouldn't of.

And they and Endemol have been talking, we know that.

Davina randomly commented that she wouldn't do BB12, why say that out of the blue unless she was asked my Five or Endemol?

We know they're keeping their lips sealed until they reveal their list.

That's 3 'Leaks'.

Sticks 11-01-2011 09:09 PM

It was of it's time

Things have moved on

No I think we do. It's not rocket science. One trillion pounds says Channel 5 will make no mention whatsoever of Big Brother. 20 pence in an alternative universe says they will.

I know which side I'm betting on.
