I've yet to play LO, it's one of those games you want to play but there's always something else you want more.

Well yeah. It's the basis of how all video games work. I just didn't like how scarce and thin it was made to look in XIII. Auto battle or no battle it just felt cheap. I felt like I was a spectator just picking different battle configurations and switching them every now and then. To each their own but it didn't involve me at all. It would be criminally easier and infinitely better to have just ... made a better battle system.

Don't even get me started on the Crystarium. You are far more forgiving than I am in admitting it opened up at the end. Apologists have been telling me the whole game opens up at the end apparently. I couldn't give a monkeys. I'm not walking down a twenty hour corridor to get there.

I hated it. I just ... I can't.

Tom4784 20-06-2011 02:34 PM

Fair enough, I do agree the Crystarium was flawed though, I hope they make it more like the Sphere grid in this one.

I liked the game for what is was this, a bit of an experiment which was successful in places and failed in others. I think the sequel really has potential to be great if they take what was wrong with XIII and improve it.

I am probably in the minority but i really enjoyed FFX-2, there was a lot more free access straight from the start of the game FFX had a much better storyline but the Shuyin and Lenne plot was pretty well done.. so in that sense their might be some hope for FFXIII-2

I liked it too :P

The Zanarkand theme in FFX-2 was incredible

Stu 20-06-2011 03:19 PM

X-2 was fantastic. It was sexy, quirky, played like an endless set of side quests and had a really, really good and faced paced battle system.

Tom4784 20-06-2011 03:24 PM

X-2 was fun, the gameplay I think was very strong and the story was good although nothing compared to X (which is a very tough act to follow admittedly). It's a rare FF game with a lot of built in replayability.

Keeping the same locations helped a lot don't think i would have enjoyed it as much as i did if they made extra towns and locations Spira was amazing enough

Yeah, though Killika was pretty much new :3 it also worked only having the three characters

Stu 20-06-2011 03:31 PM

And more Brother. That's always good.

Novo 20-06-2011 03:41 PM

I think thats it, I didn't play Blitzball in the second one either lol

Stu 20-06-2011 03:44 PM

Yeah Sphere Break. I never got into any of those games. Ever. I will when I play them again hopefully.

Next chance I get to do that will be on a Vita because I switched back the PS3 for a 360. Looking foward to breeding chocobos on the bus, on the john, or even at the beach.

Scarlett. 20-06-2011 03:56 PM

Wait...FFX-2 (and X) will be playable on Vita? :o

Novo 20-06-2011 03:58 PM

Talking to the Chocobo master Clasko whilst going to the corner shop for a pint of milk

Scarlett. 20-06-2011 03:58 PM

I'll never be off the thing haha

Tom4784 20-06-2011 04:04 PM

I hated Sphere Break, I only ever played it to get the Lady Luck Sphere.

No I'm just talking in general terms. They probably will be eventually though.

Aw :bawling: I can never be bothered getting the PS2 out now to play it

Stu 20-06-2011 04:13 PM

I wish I could but I can't. The HDTV has an awful habit of making pre current generation stuff look hideous.

Scarlett. 20-06-2011 04:17 PM

Yeah, theres that too xD

Scarlett. 08-07-2011 09:03 PM

A good preview here
http://www.gameinformer.com/games/fi...ostPageIndex=2

From the sounds of it, random battles are back from the older games, and non-linearity is a big factor

Tom4784 09-07-2011 02:06 PM

It looks good, I'm loving the lack of Snow and I hope he continues to not appear  I hope that...erm....Hope is back.

Rob 09-07-2011 02:07 PM

I can't believe this game is still going!
