I'm sorry, people can't brand the subject as a "mickey mouse" course. If people want to follow a career in that then fair enough. Just because you take it doesn't mean you're stupid in other subjects and can't spell.
I'm predicted an A at media when I finish my A Levels this year as well as an A in English. You can't just write someone off for taking it.
Some universities don't look fondly on it but they don't teach the course. That's why you find that some universities focus on academic subjects whilst others focus on creative subjects. It doesn't make you any less of a person, it just means you think in different ways.
