Poor Gaga, I fear this may be the start of her UK decline. :(

I disagree, think there has been much divided opinion over this tune and the majority don't like it, either way what is certain is that Lady Gaga will be more driven to succeed because some just want her to fail;).

Depends how good 'Judas' is.

Smithy 23-02-2011 06:10 PM

Born This Way is in the top 30 preorders on Amazon, ahead of femme fetale which is released in 4 weeks, I don't really think it is

It doesn't depend on the one tune, Gaga will still have her dedicate core UK fanbase regardless unless some fans get fed up or have had enough because IMO most people are fickle when it comes to music:D.

Hopefully Judas with RedOne will be better because her tracks with him are usually great!:).

Exactly.

If some fans thought 'Born This Way' is the weakest single and dont like it, and 'Judas' continues on the disappointment, she will lose fans... which will hence start her decline of success in the UK.

The British press are certainly always interested in what extremes Gaga gets up to...

Tom4784 23-02-2011 06:41 PM

The video won't affect a damn thing as far as UK sales go. She released a sub standard song and on a stupid release date and it's her own fault for hyping it up so much when in fact it's like a subpar Madonna B-Side from the 80's.

People bought it because of the initial hype and it's plummeting sales since only prove that the song itself is weak and that people just don't care about it.

Zippy 23-02-2011 06:58 PM

the song sucks ass and just doesn't have the quality to sustain itself beyond the initial hype. It's not like we even heard it long before its release either. After just a couple of weeks its already tired. It actually grates on my now with its crass, clumsy lyrics and overbusy production.

The video will no doubt give it a boost but all that proves is that the song itself is weak and needs distracting imagery to inflate its worth. So much for being a real artist of substance when she needs expensive pop videos to flog her wears.

And her album will never sell as many as Fame because those figures were grossly inflated anyways by adding two separately released albums sales together. Cheating.

Brilliant that Adele is absolutely massive worldwide at the moment just to show her up. Now there's a woman who really lets the voice and music do all the talking. No gimmicks or publicity stunts.

InOne 23-02-2011 08:28 PM

Never really hear it in on the radio either

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 23-02-2011 08:43 PM

the song deserves to flop tbh she shouldnt be guaranteed success just because of who she is

But that's they answer to all her success. Take away the bizarre image and the super-expensive videos and you have a very ordinaryand derivative song. She is on the way to being 'last year's thing' at a rate of knots.

If the single shoots up to number one after the video is shown, it will actually prove the song is useless and needs a video to have success in the UK chart.

Think too much time has passed already for a video to make much difference now hasn't it? All I see on music chans is top 20 top 40 charts and stuff. If it's dropped it probably won't get played that much

omg all of those stats have made me forget about her failure here

Mystic Mock 24-02-2011 11:41 PM

as me and others that are not gaga die hards have said before, gaga was never gonna have longevity as her outragous ways was always gonna end up becoming desperate and attention seeking.

i also think gaga concentrates more on her videos than the quality of the record.

I'm not sure you can call it a failure. Well, you could but that would make you retarded.

She was #3 for two weeks in a row, without any promotion what so ever. She's done no promotion for Born This Way in the UK, yet she managed to stay in the top 3 for 2 weeks and she's still in the top 10.

Besides, I'm really not sure why you are praying she fails. She's never done anything wrong to you. Gaga owns her haters every time, period.

The song sold 1 million copies globally in 5 days, 1 million in the US alone in 10 days, regardless of the UK chart which counts for jack all this doesn't mean she has no longevity.
