i dont believe that ireland should have been split in two,but the way some irish people from the republic of ireland mention the past as to why they wouldnt want to join the uk need to get a grip as it wouldnt be like it was then,you would actually be treated better this time. although i believe britain should just be england,wales and scotland as we are on the same land. |

Most intelligent people in England bear no ill-will toward the Irish, and the people who were involved in dividing the country are many years dead. What's more, if they were asked, most English people would say that they wished for Ireland whatever the Irish people wished for themselves. No one was listening when the IRA was blowing up civilians, but the English have forgiven them for that. Now there is a fragile peace, I think everyone wants the best for Ireland and for the peace to be permanent. The fact is that some people in Northern Ireland want to remain British, which is a problem. Beats me why we don't all try to get on.
