BB will reach it's 20th series.. if..

-There is a change on channel 5 with the BB format. New, fresh and exciting things have to happen.
- The format should change a bit. Maybe turn it more into a gameshow. There is 500 grand at steak. We don't want any lazy fat arsed, boring buggers in the final. EVERYONE has to fight for their place in the house, etc..

- A vote to SAVE!! << If ANYTHING this has to be the main thing that changes!

- No housemates from "agencies", no housemates who "knows" or are "related" to a celeb... none of this sh!t..... Please just a range of a variety of people around the UK!! << More so.. they should all be selfish and care free type people. We don't want people who are going to cry over their stay in the BB house.. "oh I miss home" wahhhhh!!

SHUT THE F UCK UP!

Amen.

Hopefully the can pull something out of the bag, but I doubt.

The show became dead because they chose boring housemates. Became more PC. Plus BB came a bit predictable and housemates could guess what happens. The boring ones would sail to the end who didn't upset or annoy anyone.

This is why the format has got to change. Nearly everything about BB has to change. We can't have everything pretty much the same and us being promised every single year.. "ooo you will get better housemates", "we are bringing the "fun" factor back", "sex den" and all this crap!!

I am sorry Patrick.. I know you don't like BB USA. But now.. times have changed. Big Brother needs to be more like a game now!! NO ONE hides.. EVERYONE is on the spot!!

Patrick 04-05-2011 10:34 PM

Beast, Jesus f/
Sit down a minute.

I have been like one of the few people on this forum for months on end saying how Big Brother should be a game show, IT IS a game show for ****** sake it always has been.

Nasty Nick knew that, the retarded public didn't get that into their heads though and neither did alot of the housemates.

I've always said the reason BB5 was so epic was because Victor and Jason were two game players and made it amazing to watch their tactics and how they wanted to get rid of certain people, It was so good.

I also argued last Summer that John James was a game player - but I liked him for that where as other Dick Heads wanted him out over it.

The only thing with John was, he hid his game playing from the public unlike Victor and Jason.
Like John would deny playing a game, where as Vic and Jase invited the public to be in on it.

Anyway, for crying out loud BBUSA isn't the only 'game show'.
Every single version of Big Brother from Netherlands to Spain, to UK to AUS to USA to Brazil - it's all a big game to win a cash prize, it's Reality TV/Game Show.

So stop being like other simple minded people on here who think everything needs to be like BBUSA.

I agree with what you're saying in a certain sense, just not how you said the last part as if I was some idiot like most people who get offended by game players.

But you can't exactly put 12 People in a house and say 'Okay act like Americans.'
Nick, Jason and Victor - heroes.

We might, infact we WILL have more game players now with the massive cash fund - but you also need to think of the audience.

Americans like to watch things that seem OTT and scripted and they like to watch game playing.

[I also like that last element].

The UK audience however likes to watch arguments, people making fools of themselves and just having a great summer of entertaiment.

So gameplaying could turn the audience away, or bring in more ratings - I don't know, point of this post:

Beasty, I'm 110% Pro Gameplayers so don't be saying I'm not babe, k? :)
Cool.

Patrick 04-05-2011 10:36 PM

I'm sorry if that came across as snappy/cheeky BTW Beasty  I just read over it.

Beastie 04-05-2011 10:45 PM

Okay Paddy. And sorry.... I keep saying BBUSA as an example. I know other foreign BB's have the game playing element too!! BB UK should make up some tasks for all the housemates or take some advice from BBUSA AND the other foreign BB's!!

Also yes.. your right Paddy.. BB has ALWAYS been a game. Since Nasty Nick. But NONE of the honest gameplayers have won!!

For BB12.. ALL the housemates need to be made to "play" the game. ALL of them take part in a survival task.. etc.

So many of them do bugger all and sail to the final.

I hate Davina's stupid advice to wannabe housemates as well. She said something like "I like seeing a housemate taking a step back and showing their colours as weeks go on" or something!! I don't know.. there is a thread on here somewhere.

F uck that sh!t. We need fireworks from Week 1. Not "waiting" for someone to come out of their "shell".

With BBUK turning more into a gameshow like the foreign BB's.. we might actually have a house full of entertaining, selfish, carefree housemates!!!

A vote to SAVE Desmond. ALWAYS a VOTE TO SAVE!

CharlieO 04-05-2011 10:54 PM

I personally think t will last longer than 2 years and carry on. But i think it will get ratings enough for channel 5 but i really think it is going to be ruined and turned into a cheesy game show. I hope im wrong but i think the only important thing to endemol and channel 5 is ratings at the moment and i dont see any of the BB fundamentals still being there. By BB16 you may not want to appear on such a bad television show. But we will wait and see.

Bubba 04-05-2011 11:05 PM

Lets wait and see how C5 run the new CBB and BB. All this speculation is irrelevant as we have read before as to whether C5 would get the contract. I for one hope BB is a success on C5 and it goes on for as long as Neighbors/ Home and Away has on this channel. C5s outlook on viewing figures are a lot lower than those of C4 so i expect them to be well satisfied with with the viewers they get for the series. With the right Team in charge and listening to all the Forums etc; i expect to see this series running for a long time; with the support of BB forums here in the UK and abroad.
Support C5 and BB is here to stay.

Davina said to "show your range of colours as the weeks go by" to avoid the curse of being evicted early which is exactly what "fireworks from week 1" causes and then we end up with 4-5 weeks of bore like the last 4 series.

A house of entertaining, selfish, carefree housemates?
Did you not watch BB5 and 6? lol

joeysteele 04-05-2011 11:16 PM

It will be a massive success for Channel 5, even with lower viewing figures than on Channel 4. the income for Channel 5 that will be generated from advertisers, sponsers and the public's involvement too will be the reason they will want to keep it.

BB is still too good an idea and also still a young programme to be done away with for good, it was widely expected, even on here that it was gone for good likely once it ended on Channel 4.

All this work done to get it for Channel 5 and getting it back on clearly shows the people in the know are still sure it has great potential.

It was widely expected that the show would be on channel 5 within a year or 2. No surprise to this forum.

Yes I did. And a series like them or even better would be epic. That is down to epic housemates though. Nowadays we are likely to get more boring housemates. But with the format changing into more of a survival gameshow.. it's going to be more interesting!

joeysteele 04-05-2011 11:35 PM

I think it would have been less of a success if it had been off the screens for 2 years or so,I agree that was also an expectation of many on here.

It is clear that the people who wanted to take it over though clearly felt a delay in it returning would be bad for it overall, hence it coming back on TV right away.

It won't be ruined and turned into a cheesy game show, it already is a game show.
It'll be ruined and turned into some contstant sex show with strippers and it'll become very tiring and Desmond will use the show to take his sexual urges out on it.

I could be wrong, I can't see Channel 5 making it cheesy - I'm not sure.

And yeah you're right, I was thinking this earlier like if they ruin it that much then I probably just might stay away from it - which would be a shame after being a massive fan.
But yeah lol we'll wait and see.

Yeah Brian Belo's stupid opinion. The same every year.. "We need sexy housemates". He's boring!! He would be happy with a dull, blonde bird with big boobs who just layed there through the whole duration of the show.

There are plenty of good looking, sexy people out there. Who are entertaining and intelligent. Please.. no one from agencies. And.. they don't all have to be good looking. For Christ Sake!

Fireworks from Week 1 causes one thing - attention for the show and great ratings, simple.

The only thing that leaves us with a dull series come the end is the pathetic vile mothers against entertaiment, who vote out every good housemate.

That's why a Vote to Save MUST come into play for good, but it won't.
They've already said it'll be Vote to Evict - not sure why they said it, it put me in a bad mood - but they did.

Pish.

Yeah when the Summer was drawing to a close and every BB fan needed some sort of light at the end of our tunnels so we kept going on about how it'll be back on C5.

No one thought for sure it would be, because Channel 5 and Endemol pulled out of talks at the end of August and the whole forum basically gave up then.

The majoriy of this forum are actually miserable basards when it comes to Big Brother, not sure why they're on here still but yes - that's why I love On-Season to talk to other fans who actually like the show.

95% of people on here thought it was gone for good, if you thought it was returning you would be laughed at.

I'm not saying I thought it was returning, I did at one stage but then the more they dragged it out and Endemol and Desmond fell out - I joined the others and decided it wouldn't be happening.

So yes, it was a shock to the forum.
Wouldn't of been if it was announced in September, but in April - it was an exciting shock.

Jords 04-05-2011 11:45 PM

I think it will become Channel 5's most profitable show, moreso than it was for channel 4.

Yeah I am sure it will. What is the highest rated show on Channel 5 nowadays? Something that can only just reach 2 million viewers?

They best advertise this well and SPECIFY that there is 500 GRAND to be won!! Adverts, billboards, newspapers, radio, GALLORE!

georgehudson 09-05-2011 02:55 PM

I actually have a feeling we will see Big Brother 20, Channel 5 will be desperate for it.

Jarrod 09-05-2011 04:07 PM

I think it will last for another 3-4 years. Possibly longer. However, The Fact that were getting CBB8-BB12-CBB9 Is gonna be a bit of a overload and people may get bored of the program and it could go down hill from there but i hope not

Also i think that CBB9 Will be a bit after BB12 as apparently BB12 Will be shorter than the normal 13 weeks leaving more time to prepare for CBB9

Where did you hear BB12 would be shorter?

I hope there is a bit of a gap between BB12 and CBB9 but even though BB12 is starting very shortly after CBB8 I kinda want an 11-13 week regular version to run up to Xmas because of all the holidays in autumn/winter. Obviously not have it still on Xmas day but the HMs could have a Xmas task in the first week of December, they could have a Halloween themed party and bonfire night :)
