I haven't SEEN a ghost ever but I've had stuff like felt something watching me or walking behind me, usual stuff.

Although a few years ago me and a few friends though it'd be "fun" to do a seance on Halloween and apparently a man came through (one of my friends is Wiccan and claims to be able to perform them), an elderly man, who said he was tormented by kids in his later years as they used to bang on his windows and scare him. No word of a lie, something started tapping on the window, like as if someone was just going "knock... knock... knock... knock...", it was on the window next to where I was sitting. Sh!t myself is an understatement.

But like when people go 'ghost hunting' and pick places where 'people have died' is stupid. In my house a baby died and a guy was murdered by his son and after 14 years of living here I can say I've yet to see/feel anything 'paranormal'.

What was it like?

I've had quite a few little encounters before. My head was stroked by something a year or so ago. Really.
I was so freaked out, I had to spend a couple of nights round my mates.

There was an old man that lived here before me, and he died four months after his elderly wife.

I hear things all the time in my house. I'm sort of used to it now. It freaks me out when things happen, because it scares me, but I'm not scared anymore if you get me.

Dog's and that can apparently see things human's can't, and I'm guessing that's true, because my boxer is always staring at apparent thin air.

I've felt something touch my back before and I thought it was one of my sisters so I shouted at them. I felt bad after cause I scared them too.

I've also been with my mum and sister where we opened a door and then heard a bang. Thinking it was someone in the house we checked the room but it ended up being a picture that had fallen over on the windowsill. I have no idea how it didnt just fall off the window, there was like 2 inches spare room yet it was laying face down.

I've seen shapes in the house before and one time I thought it was my sister so I followed it to the other room and no one was there. It was during the day so I wasnt that freaked out.

What has scared me the most is that I thought I heard someone walking down the hallway, but everyone was either asleep or downstairs. I had a panic attack, it was horrible.

The experience I remember the most is that a few days (or maybe the day my grandmother died) we were staying in her house, and I was in bed and I heard her say my name. I know it sounds ridiculous, and I know it wasn't a dream because I asked my sister if she was awake, so I could ask her about it in the morning. I was terrified, but i didn't do anything about it. I didn't tell my mum untill like 2 years ago

My nan's house is 'haunted'.

I don't really like using the term haunted.

But my would be uncle died in his sleep when he was eleven. He suffered really bad with asthma.
And my Nan, has this touch lamp thing, and it turns itself on all the time. Every time it turns on, we're like, 'Oh Michael's here'.

He supported Tottenham and every time they are playing it turns on.
I don't like being on my own in my Nan's house. Things throw themselves around all the time, and my Nan has heard someone walking up the stairs, when she's been alone. Doors opening and lights turning on etc.

So I do believe in ghosts. I certainly believe in an Afterlife of sorts.

some of these stories are scaring me

keithafc 22-05-2011 12:07 AM

Yes. As you know i ain't a big fan of religion or a thing such as god but i do believe in spirit or the energy of ghosts. Ghosts are basically residual energy. They can't interact with you. Unlike say Poltergeists, which can move things.

I remember reading that something like 57% of people in the UK believe in ghosts/spirit if you like.

Ninastar 22-05-2011 12:07 AM

Im not sure if I think I believe in "ghosts" but I think there is something.

im scared to leave my room now and I really need a wee :(

I think a lot of the paranormal world is misunderstood and a lot of people take advantage of it. I remember talking to a medium who has a normal job and does not make any money from it at all. He just has it he told me. He says, you can't contact spirit, they contact you and says he is utterly baffled by these TV psychics.

Poltergeist phenomena is another one. One of the big things about it is a lot of it happens when you turn your back or a teenager is around.

Benjamin 22-05-2011 01:44 AM

Yep, I believe in spirits and ghosts. :)

Liberty4eva 22-05-2011 01:54 AM

When I was like 6 or 7 I thought I saw a ghost outside my house. But today I kind of think it was my teenage neighbor wearing a white sheet or something trying to scare us.

Ithinkiloveyoutoo 22-05-2011 01:56 AM

no. :bored: but why is it when people "see" ghosts they're from victorian times lol

I'm amazed at the amount of people who instantly assume it's a ghost and not ... you know ... in your head.

CharlieO 22-05-2011 10:46 AM

No I don't, I believe the mind is very powerful and can play very realistic tricks on people.

Crimson Dynamo 22-05-2011 12:17 PM

If you noticed that your bank account had been debited £100 each month for 6 months and you did not know who the payment was going to, you would call your bank.

If the bank said that they did not know either but they were pretty certain a ghost had done it how would you react?

Its so ****ing weird and creeping me out a lot. The old woman who lived here before us died in this house too. I have only just told gav this about 10 mins ago, and he reckons he sees things moving out the corner of his eye all the time in the kitchen(I rarely venture into the kitchen  ) so now we are both just sitting freaked out waiting for something to happen even though it wont :bored:

I think you need a hoilday dont worry about ghosts it the burglar that will get you :joker:
