Lies.

San Andreas was one of the best games ever created; and I'm not even that big a fan of it.

Saints Row was a crappy attempt at trying to be San Andreas - it failed at it.

I found Saints Row boring and a backwards step, it's like it would of been fun and acceptable in like 2006 but SR2 came out in a time were gaming was advancing alot and it just looked really odd that a game that was pretty much San Andreas - was out on the market.

Although I'd agree kind of that SR2 was more fun than GTA IV.

Grand Theft Auto 4 was outstanding and amazing when I first got it - but after a while it did die and it became nothing more than a boring gritty depressing game, even the graphics weren't as amazing once Red Dead Redemption came out.

That's why I prefer Gay Tony - far more things to do and it's much more lively but even at that - nowhere near as fun as Vice City or San Andreas.

GTA V needs to return to the way the games use to be.

Ideal;
Having it set in a new Vice City with San Andreas' game play.

That's because they aren't. They are full games. You must be seriously taking the piss if you think anyone considers either of those two games a simple expansion pack. They are fully features games that stand alone.

They won't call it that. I don't remember playing a game called 'Grand Theft Auto III : Vice City'.

GTA4 just wasn't GTA to me. It was boring. I want the bat**** craziness of the older games and Saints Row has that in spades.

Scarlett. 05-06-2011 08:17 PM

I play SR for all the fun

I play GTA for the realism and the story

Agreed, I couldnt even complete GTA IV, I got bored of it, it wasnt what I wanted from that kind of game. Saints Row 2 is one of my favourite games, I completed it months ago but still it play it now, just doing random stuff around Stilwater, cant wait till the Third one's out in November

Stu 05-06-2011 08:31 PM

Saints Row : The Third and Elder Scrolls V are coming out within a week of each other. What a week that is going to be.

bbfan1991 05-06-2011 08:43 PM

BOGT and TLAD were no way full games they had like 20 mission and were billed as expansions to GTA 4 rather than been stand alone. Im sure San Andreas had over 100 odd missions in total.

But yeah I agree with what you're saying, The 4th Era definetely wont be over yet.

Scarlett. 05-06-2011 11:09 PM

I think what Stu means is, they didn't really leech of GTA IV, they stood up as good games/stories in their own right, they added tonnes of new features, and each had a completely different feel. Also they weren't cheap last minute DLC, the way they tied into Niko's story made it obvious they were planned from the start.

Patrick 05-06-2011 11:12 PM

Oh no I get what you mean;

I was shocked aswell - but THEY ARE considered Expansions to the GTA III game.
Just expansions that were ******ing fantastic and better than the Original game.

I don't consider them expansions, but I bought a magazine [made by Rockstar] in April '08 before GTA IV was out and it said on the first page that Vice City and San Andreas were only expansion packs.

I was like .

I don't know why you lot [Jordan and Stu] think the 4th Gen isn't over? How come?
It's being built up as GTA V by pretty much everyone - although I get your point Stu; if it's released as 'Grand Theft Auto [city]' then it won't be that bad.

I just don't want 'Grand Theft Auto IV cityname'.
Everytime I see the IV logo I feel repulsed and turned of at even playing it.

And as for the link; I don't have one as I read it months ago on the GTA Forums or Gamespot - not sure which.

Yeah that was very well done.

Gay Tony was brilliant; as Jordan said they only had like 20 Missions but those 20 Missions sh*t all over GTA IV's, although GTA IV does have one of the best missions ever.

The Bank Robbery. :worship:

Scarlett. 05-06-2011 11:16 PM

It's the same era because it's the same engine :p and same console xD

I did originally get the impression that it'd be a 5th era but looking into it the 3rd era went on for 6 years so to end this one after only 3 would kind of be a waste.

The only stand alone game we've had from this series so far [im not including TLAD & BOGT] is that **** Nintendo Chinatown Wars thing that no one even cares about.

Thats why I think they're going to come out with some epic new game to help finish this era off first. Its not going to be 'GTA 4: City Name' or set in Libertiy City [again], it'll just be a new game like SA was but included as part of the GTA 4 series.

... what? I never claimed Ballad or Lost & Damned were full games. I was talking about Vice City and San Andreas.

No, they're not. 'Because I read it in a magazine somewhere' is not proof of something. Nobody considers San Andreas or Vice City expansion packs. They're not.

'I read it on a forum' is not proof of something either. Good god. Think things through before you post man. Rockstar have yet to open their mouths on the title of this game. This is a fact. They have not said it will be called Grand Theft Auto V. There is a difference between facts and fanboy speculation.

It is considered part of the same generation of games because it is on the same generation of consoles and is using the same game engine. It's the way Rockstar always work.

You're always so rude to me, why can't you be more kind like Jordan?

Right fair point on the second one; but on Rockstar's Magazine/Book thing in the build up to GTA IV they had a entire page dedicated to how San Andreas and Vice City are expansion packs on GTA 3 - hence this:

http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sel...to_trilogy.jpg

 God Mitzy from GTA III was hot.

But yeah I don't consider them expansions either, GTA 3 was horrible and the other 2 [especially VC] were pure Sex.
But Rockstar intended for them to be Expansions/Add Ons as they said in their own Magazine/Book.

Stu 05-06-2011 11:59 PM

You're posting stupid shit. You continually post stupid shit. Stop posting stupid shit and I won't need to point out to you that you're posting stupid shit. You're consistently rude to anyone and anything you disagree with and yet you are completely dead to the irony of what you just posted. At least I'm rational and logical in my attacks.

I'm not going to take your word for it that Rockstar said Vice City and San Andreas are expansion packs. Because they're not. Maybe you read it wrong or maybe it's just a feature on Grand Theft Auto and Rockstar that's not necessarily written by Rockstar. But they aren't expansion packs. They are two new titles in a generation of GTA games.

Ask anyone do they consider them expansions. Go on. Anyone. No offence but it's much easier for me to believe that you fucked up and read something wrong than believe everything else.

Lol I realised a minute after posting when I went back and checked the earlier posts, but it'd already been quoted, so I thought there was no point editing :p

Oh my bad, I thought we were talking about GTA 4. In that case I agree with you.
