Watch out for Sven's men as well

seanraff07 07-08-2011 11:45 PM

Middlesborough will go up, mark my word.

King Gizzard 07-08-2011 11:49 PM

Southampton for me, Forest with Steve maybe

Ipswich with Chopra and Bowyer in midfield are my darkhorses, and they owned Bristol yesterday

seanraff07 07-08-2011 11:54 PM

Boro, Leicester and Reading

bbfan1991 08-08-2011 12:43 AM

Middlesborough are underwhelming, everyone was so sure they would go up last season but ended up flirting with relegation for a while then had a good spell where they eventually finished in the top half of the table. They might prove me wrong this season, who knows?

Forest only have a small squad but McLaren is an experienced manager and could get the best out of them, despite disappointing and coming close to promotion in previous seasons.

I think West Ham and Leicester will go up, fancy Southampton as a dark horse for a play off place.

bbfan1991 08-08-2011 12:46 AM

I agree Nate, if Ipswich can be consistent then they have a good shout at PO places or even promotion.

I fancy Cardiff again to be challenging for promotion, they've lost a few players who they've had to replace or sent loan players back to their clubs but CCFC have replaced them with new signings and have a new manager so they could do well.

I know Mowbray very well after his 3 year spell with us and know if given the time he should be able to get them up, can sign lots of gems for nothing and gets them playing football the way it should be.

Quality manager was a bit unlucky at Celtic, infact typical of them, don't give anyone a chance and will get on the managers back the minute he drops 2 points for the first time ever.

Don't get me wrong Boro actually have a decent squad and Mowbray is an OK manager and can challenge for promotion, but I just think atm people are jumping the gun where they are concerned.

Strachan ****ed them up by signing a load of SPL rejects.

Obviously these players do have some talent but this league is more competitive and has a different style to the SPL;).

If McCoist turns out to be anywhere near as bad as Mowbray was at celtic it will be a miracle

Not gonna deny it, I'll be the first to admit the SPL is murder, really it's not even alright at times, it's just terrible altogether. The standard, the teams, the league system and set-up, the split, the grounds, the lack of atmosphere. If I didn't love Hibs I would have absolutely no interest in Scottish football whatsoever, it's on the downslide all the time.

For me the Championship is my favourite league in the world, the most competitive and the most entertaining. Some really good teams battling it out in there.

Yeah Mowbray wasn't great at Celtic, but as usual the fans don't give him a chance

King Gizzard 08-08-2011 01:13 AM

You wouldn't put it past most of the teams in the Championship making the playoffs, that's why it's so good

Even some of the league one teams would have good championship teams

Completely unpredictable, from top to bottom!

Yeah like Huddersfield.

I agree, a shame SPL is not more competitive but it's actually not that interesting. Sectarianism is the real problem tbh overall.

2 former England managers now in charge of Championship sides

joeysteele 08-08-2011 08:45 AM

Ipswich always falter mid season and lose too much ground to make up. So many teams can be in contention for me this season but I can see Chris Hughton bringing Birmingham back, the other 2 teams I would predict are SoUthampton and Cardiff(Cardiff are a very stubborn side and hard to beat).

Mystic Mock 15-08-2011 06:45 PM

King Birmingham are on the rise.

King Gizzard 17-08-2011 03:17 AM

Saints are going up, quality, bet on it now

Ipswich going to have another rubbish season :(

King Gizzard 21-08-2011 02:00 AM

actually can't believe the ipswich result yesterday :(

*ip****

Novo 21-08-2011 02:01 AM

What happened in that game? weren't Ipswich down to 9 men in the first 42 minutes :joker:

King Gizzard 21-08-2011 02:04 AM

1-0, then 4-1 down in 5 minutes, man sent off, half time, 2 goals and another man sent off

the defense was horrible
