But now that i know he stole his style and ideas from another artist especially a FRENCH artist, i think he's a poseur.

It just showed the french guy on this documentary and he was the person to come up with the idea of using stencils instead of free drawing and banksy acknowledges him as an influence and admires him he doesnt copy his work as it were but he admits he is influenced by him.

The doc I'm watching now says he allegedly stole his style. I'm not convinced he has

That stencil guy keeps missing out the "W"

Kerry 14-08-2011 10:17 PM

I could be as good as Robbo if I snorted a load of paint and sneezed on some canvas

This is the only thing i can find.

This statement has been released by 'The King Robbo Trust'

As rumour, speculation and public comments regarding King Robbo circulate throughout the Art World and Graffiti grapevine, we would like to set the record straight by offering the following statement ;

On April 2nd 2011 King Robbo sustained a serious life threatening head injury just 5 days prior to his current exhibition, 'Team Robbo - The Sell Out Tour' at the Signal Gallery, Shoreditch, London.

As a result he has not been available for comment or interviews.
He was also unable to show all of his intended new works at the current exhibition.

He is now out of the intensive care unit and making small but steady progress.

This has been an extremely difficult time for his family and close friends and we would like their privacy to be respected in light of the current situation.

Cheers Bobnot. It's certainly intriguing

If it was this article:
http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-en...y-2270575.html
It happened 3 weeks before that and they dont even mention it in the article. Someone in the comments section is wondering why.

A statement on here:
http://londonstreetartdesign.blogspo...-thoughts.html
Makes it sound like he was still in a coma on may 7th so he must have been pretty messed up.

Ramsay 14-08-2011 11:14 PM

Banksy is a prick

That was in retaliation to Robbo name dropping in his book saying he had slapped Banksy when he hadnt Banksy shouldnt have done that but Robbo was desperate to jump on Banksys coat tails and see if he could further himself using Banksy as a springboard.
And none of it gave Robbo licence to start defacing all of banksys work.

Day 15 of Banksy's month long residency in New York (Better Out Than In) sees an homage to The Twin Towers.

Does the flower symbolise both the explosion from the plane and a mark of respect for those that lost their lives?

"go back to your own country, dirty immigrant!"

that's the title i'd give to that artwork.

to me, he's comparing London to New York. in london he feels like he's an immigrant surrounded by police, in new york he feels out of place, because everyone is an immigrant. he looses his identity because everyone is a minority in America. he's not as special in New York.
