This is the thing BB fans need to realize. The show has evolved. Its a game show, whether you like it or not.

Actually it depends on how you watch it. And yes its dwindled since the early days however making it into more of a 'tv show' with loads of crappy effects just makes it seem childish and silly.

At least without all of that stuff some can ignore the game show quality and still look at the psychological effects whilst the people who want to believe 'its a gameshow' can still look at it like that.

Adding music doesn't make it childish or cheesy. Music adds that little extra fun. It makes it more entertaining. I liked how the music was used last year.

BringItOn 15-08-2011 10:55 PM

I said i will not watch if its anything like last years and i will stick with that :/

And I hated it. They don't have music in the house so we shouldn't get music in the highlights. It needs to be an accurate portrayal of the house not how the producers 'want you to see it'. Especially with the live feed cut they shouldn't make us endure the pain of watching some childish highlight show when we don't have any other option.

Well I like the music. Don't really see what all the fuss is about

Its always been both that was why it survived it could be a game show for those that wanted it and it could be a social experiment for those who took the time to study the HMs and the situations. The fact that it had both made it unique take that away and it is just another show competing with similar shows which are better made and better funded on more popular channels.
Ok its on CH5 and I suspect they will throw in some gratuitous nudity and dumb it down to the point a newborn can watch it thw average age of a viewer will certxainly be considerably below 18.

SillyTilly 16-08-2011 04:46 PM

I don't mind next time teasers at the end but I hate the idea of music in the show.

daniel-lewis-1985 16-08-2011 04:47 PM

Tweeted marcus about the music over the show and he said that he enjoyed it being played during tasks.

When i asked if it was going to play throughout the whole show to dramatise events this is what he tweeted back...

marcusBBbentleyMarcus Bentley

@pontyboi I haven't heard that but maybe they're right. Well, I'll just have to see.

_Seth 16-08-2011 05:06 PM

I had a burning hatred of how they played supposedly tense music over UBB housemates finding out whose nominated. I would just sit there watching being furious.

Marc 16-08-2011 05:47 PM

I don't mind this idea?

Or am I not understanding it properly? :joker:

Legend killer 16-08-2011 05:52 PM

BB will be staged more like a soap/drama this year on Channel 5 . #bbuk
Its kind of the whole reality concept is being lost in over dramatised production and partially 'scripting' it like TOWIE. Plus the no live feed matter just enhances this because now we don't even have an option.

Vanbot 16-08-2011 06:15 PM

I expect it'll still have the traditional editing, at least like last year's.

I actually preferred BB11's style as it quickened things up that needed to be shown but didn't need to take up 15 minutes, such as nominations or reward parties.

They used to spend so much extra time setting up scenes that had no pay off, just because they didn't want to break away from sort of 'real time' editing. It was ridiculous quite frankly.

I'm all for keeping it the same as last year.

As for incidental music throughout, that's not something I want to see, but I personally can't see it happening anyway. They know what makes Big Brother "Big Brother".

Vanbot 16-08-2011 06:16 PM

Deleted.

_Seth 16-08-2011 08:50 PM

Keeping it real-time was great. BB is THE original reality show, so we wanna see the reality of it all.
