I'm off to Rhodes a week tomorrow.................:dance::dance:

:D

Oh nice Pyramid! How long for?

I'm trying to book up for Turkey for next year but I keep getting all different prices, so I'm going to play a few of them off against each other. :)

Lee..... try Alpha rooms. They have fab offers for couples/family for next year. Check under Alphie's deals of the day (todays are rubbish..but check daily: there were 4* hols in Turkey for May 2012 going for £250 etc yesterday; the deals vary every day......)

I'm close to booking one of them for next year ....

here.. http://www.alpharooms.com/

7 days (well kinda works out to about 8 full days, 7 nights). Am dead excited,....you'd think I never got a holiday before. :joker:

We've just come back from, a couple of weeks in Orlando. This visit was to do the new Harry Potter in Universal and it was bloody brilliant. I'm not a fan of HP and was unsure if I would 'get' the experience and I can tell you I got it. I got it that much I'm now interested in the whole HP story.

As much as we love Florida we couldn't live there. Two weeks and I'm done. The heat is too much and the food is limited, although we did notice a slight improvement this year. Plus after two weeks we crave normality.

We've booked America again next year but we're going up the west coast.

Much as I've loved previous visit to America: if you are doing the Orlando thing..... it's not a 'restful' holiday as there is so much to see, to do, and to cram in...... fab as it is though!

We have spoilt ourselves over the years so when we do the parks we know what we want and where we want to go.

Our first ever visit to the Magic Kingdom was in 95' and that day we started at 8am and left at midnight. Now when we visit we're done in around 6 hours so we go off and fit something different in.

Lee. 13-09-2011 03:10 PM

Just had a look at that Pyr... I'm looking to book one of two hotels in particular and they came up with one if them, but they're still more expensive than directholidays.com. :(

Oh.. onthebeach always have good prices too.. :)

first time I went, it was (how embarrassing...... was for my 18th...I wanted to go to Disney World !!). In March. Spent a few days with plastic macs, weighed down by ballast as there were typhoon warnings at the time!!

Talk about lucky white heather!! LOL :joker:

Even planned, with military precision -I still think it's hard to find it restful....once you're there...... the kiddie inside comes out and refuses to go back in until you're on the flight home again!!

The jealousy is ripping outta ye innit. funny you mention, it is up the mountain, it is remote, but by sheer chance, it has internet connection.

:dance::banana::banana::banana::dance::dance::danc e:

Don't you fret pet. I'll post a lovely few pics of the sunshine glistening on the pool, as I sit being waited on and and foot by Greek Adonis type men, nibbling tzatziki n bread, before deciding on whether to opt for a freezing cold beer or a cheeky cocktail.

It will almost be like you are there with me.

Almost.....

LOL.

I went to Berlin in October 2 years ago...when swine flu hit - arrived there loaded with it, and it snowed when I was there. Spent the entire 4 days in bed with the B&B owner looking after me!!

I don't think there's anything embarrassing at wanting to go there, it certainly brings out the child in you when you're there. :joker:

Don't they like to go on about the weather ? It doesn't matter what weather they have it's always panic stations. We we're caught in a hurricane a few years back, everything was shut down and the hotel lost it's power around 8pm leaving us to just go to bed. The following morning there were trees up-rooted and some had crushed some cars in the car park, we we're lucky our car wasn't near any trees.

Even when we cut it down to 6 or 7 hours it was still tiresome, the heat doesn't help. But Disney is one of those places where you just don't stop. Even in the water-parks you're constantly on the go.

As much as I love it, I'm always ready to come home after two weeks.

That is just so good of you Pyr.

Really looking forward to seeing you all lobster pink and peeling, with the factor 5000 dribbling off you.

By the way next weeks electrical storms In Central and Southern Rhodes will knock out all electrical and communication supplies.

Incidentally all the Greek Adonis types leave the more remote areas to work in the 18-30 areas.

So it looks like warm beers served by the Greek Versions of Homer and Moe off the Simpsons.

Oh and the pools being drained and retiled next week according to the complex's maintenance schedule.

The bit that tickled me pink...... it's pissing down and folk were moaning because they were wet.

but the same folk were just about fighting to get a seat in the Water Splash area at SeaWorld..... !!!

WTF !! LOL :joker:
Glad you enjoy...... nothing worse when a holiday is cack and disappointing. (like most of mine end being ...... LOL..... !!)

When I'm in the pool, a bit of rain won't make a hell of a difference.

Lobster pink and peeling is for amateurs. I do the golden brown look, thank you very much.

I've already booked my seat at the bar, next to the heater, and the watertight roof - so sorted out there.

End of season: the Greek Adonis types will be grateful for the more mature, intelligent woman - instead of the drunken 18-30 rabble vomitting up all over the place.

Homer and Moe have a brilliant sense of humour: I so hope you are right - it's gonna be a blast!

And the Greek Army have promised me a loan of their satellite comms - just so I can keep in touch.

Get it right up you.

:D

I love it when it rains because it cools down the temperature. When it rains over there it's usually done after half an hour, unlike here where it can rain all day....

I LOVE Tropical Rain Storms........ the charge in the air before: then thundering of the rain as it fall amid the warm temperature: and then the clear pure atmosphere afterwards.

It's part of the holiday. I don't actually mind tbh.

The pool will be covered with a tarpauline so the tilers can work on it.

Behave you are a light skinned porridge *** with red hair, you will burn burn burn

The heater has no fuel

The Greek Adonis types will be still at the 18-30's winding down and phoning their seasonal conquests. Trying to get invites to the UK. They understand about the Greek economy going down the pan.

Yes but Greek Homer and Moe only speak Greek so it looks like they will be laughing at you not with you.

The Greek army will be otherwise engaged fighting riots in Greek cities.

And now for the bad news ........

Vladimir 13-09-2011 03:51 PM
