I think c5 need to have an emergency meeting and get things back on track. The fact is that the changes they made not only didn't get new viewers, it turned away old ones.

I have learned to cope with the new editing and stuff but that does not mean I like it. Sorry C5 and or Endemol. Give the fans what they want and mabye, just mabye you will get the casual audience through word of mouth. Towie people don't want to watch Big Brother. People who loved BB loved it for itself, not for being a copy of other shows.

well its not big time for CBB

and it may not be big enough for ch5 even considering how much they paid for it. And, more importantly, it doesn't bode well for BB12.

CaudleHalbard 04-09-2011 11:13 PM

I suspect BB12 will get even lower ratings.

Visage 04-09-2011 11:14 PM

I never watch anything live I sky plus everything which I'm sure is never recorded as far as ratings go.

I suspect that your suspicion will be proved correct ..... ;)

keithafc 04-09-2011 11:19 PM

It is sticking around 2 million mark which is good enough for channel 5.

joeysteele 04-09-2011 11:24 PM

I have a feeling that it's not going to lose that many viewers for the main series. Especially with it starting immediately after CBB ends, people have got into a routine now these last 2 weeks of watching CBB and may just stay with it for a good few more weeks yet when the main BB starts.
If they get good and interesting housemates that wil also help greatly.

Hopefully they will decide to do more footage at least and also hopefully they will think again as to some kind of 'live' feed.

I suspect that your suspicion about his suspicion will prove to be correct too. :suspect:

Livia 04-09-2011 11:26 PM

I didn't watch it tonight. Chose to watch something else instead. That would never have happened with previous series, and I suspect quite a few fans who have been with it for years are choosing to watch something else too.

Of course it will. We live in a showbiz/celebrity obsessed culture now. 15 wannabes going into the house for 10+ weeks isn't going to get huge ratings.

Not to mention it is on Channel 5.

People also forget the many different options to watching Big Brother. Sky+, you also have youtube, internet, Channel 5 player and so on.

Making it the Jedward show is of course making CBB the nursery school mentality show. Ok for those with nursery school mentality...Not Ok for genuine BB fans who are not kiddy winky kiddy winky orientated.

CH5 are and indeed have thus far murdered the BB format.......Main BB show looks as though it will be the last one ever if CH5 don't correct their mad stupidity of gimmicky editing and poor choices of housemates.

The only good thing they have got right thank's to Emma is the spin off show. Even that they can't stop trying to screw up by switching it to and fro from CH5 to 5*

lostalex 05-09-2011 10:59 AM

Last night's show was dire. i had to force myself to finish it just incase something happened. It really did feel like a chore.

2.5 million watched it last night though. So those die hard fans are being replaced.
