Has it been confirmed that they have actually been awarded the prize money? It would be funny if BB withdrew the £50,000.

MTVN 06-11-2011 04:59 PM

If they were "buying popularity" they wouldn't have been seen showing to regret the decision, most likely thing is they thought; "it's their birthday, we've suddenly got 10 grand, let's get them a present" and then it only really occurred to them later how much they had spent, their perception of money and it's value must be a bit strange right now because they're effectively spending cash that they don't have

Cherie 06-11-2011 05:03 PM

I could understand that concept if Aaron had gone along with it, but given he backed out, it should have acted as a wake up call...but I guess they didnt want to lose face and back down and are now 1,000 lighter...:joker:

Omega 06-11-2011 05:05 PM

Who on earth would spend £500 on someone you barely know?

fruit_cake 06-11-2011 05:06 PM

good for Aaron backing out

Luke31 06-11-2011 05:24 PM

Louise was saying. if you do something nice for someone it'll come back to you.

she's meaning votes!!

makes me sick.

Jackie 06-11-2011 05:49 PM

Jay and Louise just did it as a good will gesture thibking the public would like it in other words to gain more votes.

iRyan 06-11-2011 06:03 PM

LMAO, OMG why do the housemates always treat Alex like the bloody Queen of the house...

she's got the hair extensions, the 30k, and now the £500. Alex as far as I know has never given anything to another housemate. Likes to rake in the presents not so quick to dish them out though it seems

headaball 06-11-2011 06:39 PM

£500 watch and shoes. :joker:

The worst thing about this is people will fall for this blatant attempt to win votes.

Precisely.

I'm sorry but who in their right mind buys someone they've known for a couple of months a present for 500 quid! And one of those presents is for someone who guaranteed to be getting 30 000 quid when they leave the house (and possibly another 50 000 on top of that).

Looks like the money they don't have is already burning a hole in their pockets. BB should give those two an Argos catalogue and tell them to circle what they want and they'll go and get it for them - that would make exciting HL show! :joker:

I totally agree. She's become the baby of the house, it's become a bit sickening really, especially after finding out about her glamour modelling etc. She's really fooled them into thinking she's so sweet and innocent.

karezza 06-11-2011 07:10 PM

It is Aaron's birthday in 2 weeks time. What are Jay & Louise going to buy him?

Cromwell1900 06-11-2011 07:16 PM

How the hell did this come about then was it a straight question from BB(cant see the clip atm) "Do you want to buy Tom & Alex a present from your prize fund?" err! err!. Jay Yes -Lu - Yes - Aaron - No.

Sounds like BB have an aim to out the hm's that care most about the dosh

Hl's last night they told the "story" of how Aaron & Jay were bothered about the money being missing from the briefcase and Alex who stayed in bed & Tom who did not notice the missing 1000s were not bothered about the dosh.

Bojangles 06-11-2011 07:21 PM

I think it was genuine, but they weren't thinking straight that Alex had already got 30K and they were about to give her another £500.Then again Jay and Louise don't think most of the time.
Alex didn't refuse it though did she?

fingers 06-11-2011 07:22 PM

It seems that Loo, Jay and Aaron themselves came up with the idea with Aaron changing his mind. When they went to put it to BB in the DR it was agreed that BB would buy the presents and deliver them tonight!

We don't know that Alex and Tom are aware of any of this!

Jay and Louise came up with it. They say so in the video.

Aaron agreed to it then changed his mind.

So why did they have to slag Aaron off for not joining in?

All this talk of 'what goes around comes around' :suspect:

It was a desperate attempt to gain favor with the voting public and to discredit Aaron at the same time.

Because Aaron agreed and then pulled out at the last minute

No I don't think that at all.
