- for putting up with the crap dole out to him from BB and C5
- for being witty - Google 'Aaron's Zingers' on Digital Spy
- daring to be different - the only HM who is not a total facsimile of previous HMs
- for trying to change the face of what a successful HM should be
- for being intelligent and not being afraid to show this. His intelligence is always under suspicion - see how Jem used how smart he was to turn others against him
