Ninastar, your signature has cheered me up a bit now

Marc 03-12-2011 10:25 PM

To be honest Callum, the whole story should give you some insight as to how it'll be recieved on this forum... and everywhere really. Not too sure what you were expecting us to be like

Nobody forced you to read it you troll

It's not something I expected to see on a big brother site. I understand that it's international and everything and I'm just being picky but I hate hearing about things like this. Of course **** like this happens all the time but it's not something I want to be reminded of on a site i visit regularly.

I'm not blaming or having a go at you. I just hate reading these things and try to avoid it at all costs but when it's the name of a thread title I can't avoid it.

Like I said delete it then. You're the one who keeps going on about it.

MTVN 03-12-2011 10:27 PM

To be fair the OP warns of how graphic the video is, I'm actually quite interested in it as a news story to see if they find the person responsible, I don't think it should be deleted

Ninastar 03-12-2011 10:27 PM

I do think that thread that could upset people need to have something so that the people who don't like it can hide it.

I am not so bothered about you posting it as it is an online news story anyway, it's just I can't bear to watch the video, as it will upset me so much. I suppose you could alter the thread title to state about the graphic link video, so some don't click on it.

Marc 03-12-2011 10:28 PM

I'm not going to delete it, I was just trying to express how I felt. So much disgusted that I didn't want others to feel the way I did when I read it.

InOne 03-12-2011 10:29 PM

Maybe have a certian code word or something for threads like this so that people don't have to know the content but know to avoid it?

Jordan. 03-12-2011 10:30 PM

Oh dear. People are being a bit soft, there has been far worse threads posted on this site.

MTVN 03-12-2011 10:31 PM

I'm not sure how feasible it is to prevent threads like this being seen, I mean, we do have a serious debates and news section and that often includes quite shocking and disturbing news, there's the thread today about child abuse as a prime example of this

Understandable but I doubt this would get as many complaints if the python were eating a hamster or rat. I know it's tragic that it's eaten a kitten but I mainly posted it to show what a horrible society we live in when you read about things like this. I hope he's caught.

Marc 03-12-2011 10:32 PM

We're only posting our initial thoughts, yeah I'll get over it I'm not an emotional mess, but first thoughts are horrendous :(

MTVN 03-12-2011 10:34 PM

I've moved it to Serious Debates and News anyway, because it's not really "General Chat"

Each to their own. I got upset at this thread and there is no doubt that different people find other things worse. That's why I'm saying there should be a tag or something so that people can hide the type of threads they don't like.

I know we live in a horrible society, it's one of the things I think about all day. I just don't want to be reminded of it here.

Some are saying that you shouldn't read it. Well how can I avoid it if it's in a thread title?

I'm not sure how this story could be described any other way though, I've tried but I can't think what the title could say that gives an indication as to what the thread's about without being too explicit

Well this is the first thread I've made regarding an animal cruelty case, don't see myself making another one in future but if I was to, I'd put [May cause offence] in the title like I've added now so that people who do not wish to see have been warned. Can't do no more than that, don't think specific threads can be unviewable to all members who hate reading about anything animal cruelty.

Have to agree with everything you've said here - and in your decision to move it to the Serious Debates side.

Life isn't all a bundle of fun - if people don't want to venture into the Serious side of the forum as it most likely will contain things that aren't quite fluffy, light and bright all the time, - I think it's totally reasonable to place the thread there - and those who don't wish to view such threads that are of a serious nature such as this - don't need to venture into that section of the forum..

Black Dagger 03-12-2011 11:07 PM

I can't dare watch the video, the pictures were graphic enough.

Benjamin 03-12-2011 11:08 PM

I will not be watching this video, I really don't need to see that kind of cruelty to animals.

Livia 03-12-2011 11:13 PM

Posting the story for comment is one thing. I'm sure I don't know anyone who would want to watch the video.

Scarlett. 03-12-2011 11:14 PM

I saw pictures of this one the Daily Mail website...horrible, and haunting
