hmmmmm, is that the only person who has uploaded it?

And have you enjoyed it so far?

fruit_cake 07-01-2012 11:19 AM

yes I've enjoyed it so far, I don't know much about the book though. Did you like it?? Gillian Anderson's character is :amazed:

Benjamin 07-01-2012 11:20 AM

What an absolutely awful adaptation. I will not be watching any more of this and it does the book no justice what so ever. :bored:

:amazed: is the book very different?

Benjamin 07-01-2012 11:24 AM

Yes, the book is much more detailed and believable than this sorry excuse on the BBC. I'd recommend reading it at some point.

InOne 07-01-2012 11:26 AM

Yes the book is very different, and the worst thing is the casting. Pip looks like a Calvin Klein model and Estella looks like a checkout girl. Estella is meant to be hopelessly beautiful and way out of Pip's league. Also the acting from both isn't great either.

fruit_cake 07-01-2012 11:29 AM

can anyone tell me what happens? I'm not sure I'm going to be able to find out now, I'm upto the bit when the bald criminal man has just given Pip his fortune

InOne 07-01-2012 11:30 AM

I think it's because Dickens was under pressure to have a "happy ending"

I think I prefer the Dickens ending even if it is sad, it's still kinda happy really. Which do you prefer???

The orginal definitely. Rings more true the the story rather than the fairytale getting back together at the house kind of thing.
