I did, then I quit, then started again occasionly, then started full time... and now I have quit (at buying them). I'm just one of those annoying people that will bum a cigarette occasionaly on a night out now. My poor little pennies couldn't afford it.

Mystic Mock 08-01-2012 12:53 AM

I remember somebody asked me at school if I wanted a cigerette and I went no as I hate them.

I feel sorry for all the people that the Governments and the Tabacco companies have fooled over the years.

Benjamin 08-01-2012 12:54 AM

OMG! I found it, after months of searching this forum!

Well they rise the prices up to try and get people off smoking but if it started to effect the sales to badly they would lower the prices again.

I also have a theory that the Governments knew the dangers of cigerettes before people even tried them.

Glenn. 08-01-2012 01:03 AM

and this one

Any evidence of this happening?

a theory...

I'm to tired to respond in an articulate manner. But yes, the government want us to chain smoke to death and give all of our money to them in taxes. There is scientific proof that nicotine is given to school children in their milk in order to encourage addiction, and nicotine traces are found in the water supply. The government want a society so addicted to nicotine they would bend at the knees, and give Cameron a blowy, just for that one small toke. Sad fact. :bawling:

They rise the prices because it's a negative externality that can be easily taxed for more revenue under the pretence of doing it for the "public good"

And how could any government have known the dangers of smoking back in the 1400's when they had only just discovered tobacco themselves and when the medical technology wasn't available?

Well maybe not straight away but I reckon they found out the dangers alot sooner than there making out because they are seeing it as population control.
