those reviews were published before she died

That doesn't mean she'd have set the world alight as "the greatest musician" lol. Cheryl Cole was flavour of the month a couple of years ago and then was dropped from X Factor.

And, uh, yes it IS pop music.

All due respect to her, it was tragic what happened but she garnered more attention from her death than she did the two songs she released.

She could have become big but now we'll never know.

Her death was tragic, yes, but she was a **** musician.

If you're not black you don't get to say that about Aaliyah!! Lol just kidding but seriously she was like our britney. Do you have any idea how many girls broke their backs trying to do her routines..myself included

Tragic. She wasn't very different to the rest of the other R&B female artists but I admit after watching her last TV appearance when she's so happy and oblivious, it's heart-breaking. She mentions filming the video and it's so sad when you know what followed.

I still loved her music, even if she was no loss like Beyoncé or Britney.

yes ithintkigfujrltiotoo, i'm sure she choreographed them herself too ;)

2 songs?!?! LOL

She had been releasing music since she was 14

Before her death she had released 3 studio albums and 18 singles

So? It was a passing comment, did it mean she's the "greatest musician of all time"?. No. The type of stuff she released was no different to the generic pop/RnB being pumped out by Britney, Christina, JLo and all the others around that time 10 years ago.

Her profile was raised from the fact she tragically died in a plane crash.
She could have been big but we'll never know.
