i like them both and the hat has already been an issue so obviously that would cause some problems....denise has been her own worst enemy and it caught up with her when michael could take no more. i HOPE theyre ok now cause it got ugly....if only michael has asked about her we couldve avoided all this!

I am talking about last nights show,IF Denise had walked into the garden wearing Michaels hat, would she have been trouble causing ? Yes or No

Double standards at its very best

Not double standards at all, the hat has already caused problems in there, Michael really cares about it for some reason, I don't recall Denise being particularly bothered about her coat.

I think your argument kind of falls flat based on the reactions of all the HM’s, including Denise herself, who took it as a gesture of peace. He was called a “legend” more than once.

And the situation of the coat, versus that of a hat, can’t be compared. Because Michaels problem is with Denise invading his space, while Denise’s problem is that Michael is too closed off and won’t open up. Had Denise worn his hat, it would have been seen as another attack on his privacy. While wearing the coat was an attempt to loosen the tense air between them through comedy.

trouble is with relationships, if its repetitive behaviour of abuse or intrusion of space, the accumulative behaviour takes effect, until eventually just one more time crossing the line ruins the relationship. madsen has never invaded her space or started ANY argument. she has started every single argument. so this was the first and only time madsen took a chance and actually touched any of her belongings. its was a moment of hollywood genius

I'd agree with that.

But I do think that Michaels heart was in the right place. Nothing that we have seen so far would indicate that he's in any way bad minded.

Bollo 17-01-2012 04:02 PM

I think he was genuinly trying to break the ice because he seemed to check with the others first if he should put the coat on and if it would be a good idea, and they all encouraged him.

Having said that I think they are both on dangerous ground speaking to each other like that at the end of the episode....I got a bad feeling about this (but it's fun to watch!)

hes in there 24 hours a day , everyone criticizes and nominates him if he doesnt try and make peace with that psychotic bully, so he does he makes a joke of it, takes the sting out of the situation and bang she comes over and sits by him and hurls more abuse? what the heck is he meant to do? hide in the garden all winter? hes is paying the price all day every day for her bitter insecurities. she simply isnt funny. if she actually gave up trying to be, she would be funnier

Erm I wasn't actually arguing with you, I like Michael a lot and I know he is in a difficult position. I'm not saying Denise isn't annoying and in your face and it would take the patience of a saint to not bite back at her, but he knows what she's like now and maybe calling her a drunken bitch isn't the best way to approach things. It will only cause problems for Michael as she will go running to her buddies, it will continue to make an atmosphere, turn people against him and It will make his time in there horrible.

lostalex 17-01-2012 04:21 PM

Maybe he was just cold.

the trouble is we brits dont get american humour (not the other way round as we always claim) hes a very dry wry ambiguous guy. sometimes hes joking sometimes he aint and you have to be smart to suss out which. but in this case hes acting purely in self defence. people always say men hold back too much, dont express their feelings. well hes a right to do so after the abuse hes suffered. maybe if she stopped beinga bitch 24/7 he wouldnt need call her one....ps shes already admitted shes only keeping the peace now for selfish reasons i.e. popularity and not to get the blame for losing a legendary HM
