i think they will be okay with it in the end too, but she has told me before that she doesn't like it

and my dad said it's unnatural. he didn't mean it in a bad way though

It's weird for me seeing as my parents are in two different countries.

My mum found out via my Internet history (the less I say about that the better). She then decided to tell my dad and I've just never spoken with him about it since. I cant take the awkwardness of it and the whole thing has become a taboo subject with he and I. Conversely, mum and I are totally open about it now.

As for my friends however, only a very small amount know. I told a couple friends over Facebook (around 9/10 close friends) and that's it. I'm planning to come out at school en masse later in the year, but the only problem with that is that I can't decide how to do it. I was going to use Facebook initially but certain members of my family who I have on there, aren't all that accepting. My nan (who's something of a second mum to me as my own mother hasn't lived here since I was 5) is super religious and if she ever found out omg I couldn't bear to see her reaction.

I don't know your parents obviously but by the way your describing your parents, they don't think before they speak and I also don't think they would say stuff like it's unnatural if they found you was gay or bi,I don't know which sexual category you are in,sorry.:joker:

Honestly, I'm 20 tomorrow and I'm not fully out. My parents are super Christian and some of my flatmates are homophobic so lolnottellingthem. Only close friends (and you bunch of strangers who could easily screw me over) know.

This sounds awful and probably offensive to a lot of people here... but being bi as long as I don't fall in love with a guy I can be happy with just girls, so I don't feel I'd need to tell parents/flatmates. Then there's the whole argument about being yourself yadayada. [/possibly offensive]

ANYWAY on topic, I told close friends online around age 14 and haven't really told people since. They've just found out when I'm drunk playing drinking games such as I have never etc :p

I don't think that's offensive at all. I used to feel the same, but then I had a better understanding of who I am.

I'm still not 100% sure, but I don't think anyone is at this age

I came out to one person at first and she was cool with it. I then told the guy that I'm closest to and he was very supportive and helped me out a lot. I told him that I'd tell people over time. It just came to the point where you tell people you can't trust and everyone finds out. But no one really ever spoke about it. One conversation at lunch where someone asks and you just reply "yes". Before this though I told my other closest friends and they were great with it, in fact pleased that I was gay. My parents don't know yet, although they probably suspect.

I've never come out to my family because saying what I am isn't really a simple case of announcing it and I'm done, because most people don't even know what it is  I suppose they don't really need to know though, they might already have an idea by the fact I never show interest towards people in that way.

Told one of my friends (some of you will know her as Lizzy) on the phone though, and it was fairly easy to describe it to her.

I often feel a bit like that, a bit vague and uninterested. I don't think sexuality is black and white for some people it's just a bit vague really.

My mum's heartbroken and we don't talk in the way we used to. I know she loves me but I don't think she'll ever accept me. My dad's a lot more understanding but neither of them were expecting it, apparently, which I found surprising because I've never played up to any particular stereotype or lived any kind of lie, I've just kind of... existed. Maybe that's why they were surprised. I'm not even sure what I am, I think I might be asexual. I like the whole idea of romance but I just don't care about the sexual aspect. If I don't know, nobody knows . My mum was snooping through my brother's things and found a letter I'd sent to him a few months ago talking about some stuff and she made it all about her and how she thinks everyone is laughing at them because they didn't know and all this stuff... I don't get it, I think she's got this idea into her head that because she didn't know, I must have had this seedy secret life that I really haven't had at all... meh.

I don't think he came out as gay. He came out as 'not straight' I think. But not gay.

To be fair, I don't know who is gay anymore on this forum.

I remember there was a poll a while back with statistics of ages/sexuality etc, then it got hijacked and people ticked every box so I got confused =(.

Shaun 18-01-2012 02:48 PM

he's bi~
