Can't beat a buttered crust with strawberry jam.

Is that a euphemism?

Samuel. 02-02-2012 01:06 PM

The crust is the bit around the slices. Just because the end slice has one half covered in crust, doesn't make it the crust. It's like calling planet Earth 'water', just because there's a lot of it :idc:

Jack_ 02-02-2012 03:18 PM

It's called the crust. How can anyone call it anything else? I've never even heard of any of the other names :joker:

King Gizzard 02-02-2012 03:21 PM

I said about this the other day on here strangely :suspect:

Crust but as Samuel L Jackson said every piece of bread has crust on them :suspect:

Lee. 02-02-2012 03:23 PM

It's the heel! I've never ever heard it called anything else... especially "nobby"

Josy 02-02-2012 03:25 PM

I dont even get how can it be a heel, unless you lot are eating feet? :suspect:

Lee. 02-02-2012 03:27 PM

:worship:

and Josy it's a loaf of bread (loafer - shoe) so heel fits perfectly :idc:

Niamh, shut up. You lose. Most of us call it the crust. Get over it. Move on. Go cry to Martha. :idc:

well, most of you are wrong :idc:

By the way, I've just gotten off the phone from Martha -who by the way, works as a bread technician- and she says it's heel :hmph:

Martha is a dirty slag who thinks that herpes is a form of vegetable, so her opinion is invalid. :idc:

SharkAttack 02-02-2012 03:58 PM

Call it the heel. The crust is the outer surface of the entire loaf, unless people have a different name for that too. ;)

Josy 02-02-2012 03:58 PM

The outsider makes the most sense because its the outside bits of the loaf :hmph:
