I think it's the norm with teenage lads my nephew grunts and mumbles,lol,but i have loads of fun with him as we sometimes play video games together,i usually get thrashed but it's fun,don't mention girlfriends as with my experience this gets the biggest tut and grunt,LOL.

If he has a laptop with internet, then giving him a copy of nuts is a worthless pursuit.

Just leave the little guy alone, he'll be fine. Just make sure you put toilet rolls in next to his bed, and change his bin regularly. This way you'll avoid getting anything on your hands when you're washing his socks.

kizzy - I feel your pain LOL - my son just turned 17 and beyond the grunting and mumbling stage comes the non-stop car talk. And you tube videos about cars - and websites about cars- different colors of cars, motors, pedals, flippin' door handles... I'm about to tear my hair out!!!

But advice to you now, keep up with the stuff he is doing and try to show some interest. I always watched his type of movies (have not seen as many war movies my whole life as I have in the past 3 years) and try to keep up with music and video games just so I have something to talk about with him.

As a 14Y/O id advise you to never bring up relationships/sex, its so awkward when my mam and dad bring it up.

Never ever mention girls unless he asks you about them, it's just embarrassing, and he he won't take kindly to it. Well, maybe he will...but I don't think most boys do (I certainly don't).

Make sure he doesn't find out that you 'know' (blocking Redtube is probably a bad idea)...that'd be maximum humiliation.
