If I found a purse or a wallet, I'd hand it in. If I found a gold Rolex worth 20 grand, I'd stick it in my pocket. Anyone who can afford to spend £20k on a watch can afford to lose it. All property is theft and all that. Admire your stance though, Ammi.

Ammi... Keep the watch, don't tell the kids, Niamh and I will back you up for a cut. Sorted.

Actually, I have had a rethink about this...I couldn't keep it in this instance...I could never wear a £21000 watch and if I sold it...well, that would take me down another deceptive route as to where the money came from and the lies......my 'hate' in life is liars. BUT, if there was something else...another scenario...one my kids wouldn't find out about.....hmmm...
I still don't think I would though...I'm the sort of person that can only say..'this is the right thing to do....' if I feel justified to say it.... ....that's why I'm skint ...Oh dear, I'm over thinking this...'I'LL KEEP THE ****ING WATCH* |
I found a watch at the swimming baths once, it was worth £9.99 out of argos :bored:

It was one of those big pop watches that had the bright elastic strap and huge face  |

paranoia would make me hand it in, i would be convinced it was stolen goods i wouldn't risk trying to sell it and getting arrested. All property is theft?...is that a marxist view liv? haha :)
|
I wouldnt hand it in, no chance. People who can afford to waste that much cash on watches wont miss the 20k it cost
I also wouldnt hand in a purse or wallet full of cash...unless it had ID in it. |
On London ITV1 News
The same bin men also found 4 or 5 more watches The police think they could be stolen. |

I'd hand anything i'd found in. Too much of a conscience

I never feel bad about things I do, and I did some pretty awful stuff when I was younger :/ |
and somehow i'd like to think I was rewarded for honesty, like if the police had my contact details and the person who got their stuff back would give me something in return. Probably not even a thankyou though :joker:

I wouldn't hand it in if I were him, something as valuable as that would almost definitely mean more to a street cleaner than it would to whoever the hugely wealthy guy was who was stupid enough to lose it
|
How do we know he was 'stupid' to lose it anyway? It's exactly the same as if someone lost a personal item even if they weren't rich, he was probably still frantically searching for it

Yeah but surely you'll be a lot more careful if it's an item of such value though, and like Vicky said he should have logged it with the police, don't see why he wouldn't if it was so valuable to him :/
|
The article doesn't say how long it had been lost etc or maybe just looking to much into this :joker:
They'll probably come forward now though lol |
I'm not sure I would even bother to think about how rich he/she was careless...it just wouldn't be mine and I wouldn't want it. I've watched too many movies where the mafia have caught up with the thief...I know the score
