Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

Down South's a fair way to travel, I live near Liverpool, but I don't know how long it would take on the train? Drawn towards Wales, particularly the Barmouth suggestion, sounds nice.

Never been to the Lakes either, so maybe.

Shaun, get the kettle on...... Jk. ;)

And finally, Caitlin and Novo, I shall give your ideas a definite no. Basements are dark and creepy and the sun definitely doesn't shine out of anyone's back passage .... Reminds me of Allo Allo the comedy series .... They talked a lot about back passages on that, lol.

..there are some great castles to visit in Wales Kate

I have to agree. Devon especially is quite beautiful. My oldest Son went to Somerset for a school trip and loved it there.

I think anywhere in Scotland would be great! I want to go there! :wavey:

Has to be the cotswolds because it's absolutely beautiful. Although, I am a bit biased.

If you want the weather, you really need to go down south. Avoid Southend and The Isle of Sheppey at all costs. Torquay looks nice. (Not Torbay). If you want scenic walks then the Lake District is good. Also many parts of Wales. Anglesey is really nice and quiet. It depends where you are situated and how far you want to travel.

:nono:

I live on the Isle of Sheppey.

Kate, having just returned from Looe in Cornwall, I'd recommend there. Cornwall in general is stunning and lots of scenic walks and little harbours. We took a boat out from the harbour and see some seals.
