I completely agree with your dad too Vicky. They shouldn't give such an open ended question like that if they are going to kick up a fuss about the kind of answers they get. :joker:
|
I was a little bastard in school so if that question was put infront of me i would have found it very hard not to write "She used to fondle me" LOL
|
OK Im glad everyone seems to agree that its absolutely ****ing stupid. I thought maybe I was being a bit biased because its my brother
I havent heard anything else about this yet, so Im assuming the second meeting hasnt happened yet...hopefully they have the sense to just drop it now. Surely they can see they have no case whatsoever. If they do try taking it further, I will pass on that email address to my dad though daniel, cheers for that :) |

Why ask if you can't handle the answer
|
you want the truth?
YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Got his results today, they did disallow his french one because of this.
Was the only subject he got a B in..and all because of this. Everything else was A or A* What a pisstake. Still great results, but to disallow something for this :bored: |

yeah I agree, that's disgraceful. Kick up a massive fuss Vicky. He's obviously worked dammed hard to get those grades, why should he not get the full recognition he is entitled to.
|
I hope they do..but I can't see it. These results are not going to affect anything, especially with the others being high and a B still being good.
He just wanted good enough results to do medical school. As his sciences and stuff are fine, this affects nothing so I cant see him pushing it :/ |

I don't think its my place to do anything really..as much as I would love to. I will try and convince my dad, but probably wont be too successful :(

Was this an official GCSE paper that he wrote the comment in? :conf:
|
I dont know if it was coursework or one of the exams..but yeah it was a proper GCSE thing
Apparently things have changed since I was at school and now the 'exam' side of it is split into one near the end of year 10 and the ones at the end of year 11 or something? |

That's still completely ridiculous though. In one of my French speaking assessments we had to talk about school, our teachers etc and we were actively encouraged to mention the positives and negatives to each one to show you are able to do that, so I said something along the lines of "I love my English teacher, he is very nice and kind to us but my Maths teacher is very nasty and strict." I got an B for it - though not because it was a terrible thing to say, just because i'm not very good at it. If I wrote it at A* standard like your brother then they would have given me one without any issue. And 'nasty' is harsher than 'unpleasant'! If he wants to apply to medical school then he'll be competing against people with straight A*s across the board in both GCSE AND A Level. Would one B affect his chances? No, not really, but his application would obviously look better if he had his deserved A* grade instead. I wouldn't give up on trying to get it. |
