Watch Tonights show
he is talking to much about it.

He needs a storyline because he is boring as anything

I can see why he would be concerned at the need to explain things with so many people he doesn't know anything about yet.

I am actually pleased he has started to do it now and get it out the way so that it is not an issue going on for ages intothe series.
From what I have seen so far, he is making the right decisions as to how he tells them, he is doing it before any nominations proper take place and when he isn't up for eviction too.
Also, he may find he will get a far better response to it from his housemates than from people outside the house.
I hope he gets them told and leaves it all at that and then gets on with being a housemate like the rest of them, which I think is his intention really.

I agree with everything you've just said ATM he's one of my favourites.

Well, it's his story, isn't it? I'm quite sure BB pushes him to speak about it too

fruit_cake 07-06-2012 11:34 AM

it seems to me he wouldn't be on BB if he wasn't a transsexual, so it's a bit of a contradiction. He doesn't want to be treated as something less than a ordinary person, but in stark contrast is willing to use it to get on BB. Something that an ordinary person cannot do

lostalex 07-06-2012 11:38 AM

Anyone who thinks it's an advantage to be transgendered should try educating themselves and see what transgender people actually face in the real world. The idea that it is in ANY WAY an advantage is very ignorant. It is a disadvantage in every way.

Redway 07-06-2012 11:47 AM

I just find that the only interesting aspect to him so far. Other than that, he seems as dull as dishwater right now.

However if you take fruitcakes analogy as an instance she is right...If he was male luke A he would never had made the show.
It was not an ignorant statement it was a fact, and not a slight on the transgender community.

Niamh. 07-06-2012 11:51 AM

Yeah, I agree with Kizzy, it was an advantage to get him on the show, that doesn't mean it's an advantage in everyday life

Jack_ 07-06-2012 12:54 PM

If he's getting it out in the open to start with I don't think anyone could accuse him of 'using it to his advantage', surely you'd only say that if he kept it a secret? I just think he's self-conscious, wants to get in the pool and so wants to get it out of the way. I personally find it real interesting, so the more we hear him discussing it the better IMO.

Hm, I'm not too sure about that just yet. I have already seen and am expecting some transphobic comments not only on this forum, but on DS, Twitter etc. I have always said ever since Nadia reappeared in UBB that transphobia is the last remaining form of discrimination that is still deemed 'acceptable'. I've already seen quite a few vile things written about him.

For the first time ever I may actually agree with you.

Black Dagger 07-06-2012 12:56 PM

I think he's just getting it out the way early, so that he doesn't feel uncomfortable in the house around people.

I do think though in a couple of weeks, the story will die down and he may come across as dull, we don't know.
