I sure hope the people who contacted the police aren't on this forum, otherwise I have a few members to add to my ignore list.

Reporting the incident to the police will not do anything to solve the already resolved issue in a house constantly monitored by people. Whilst Conor should have definitely had the decency to apologise to Deana properly, this is Conor we're talking about. I hope nobody on here was seriously expecting him to get on his knees and buy a pack of chocolates and roses for her...

I do think that people who are calling the police to report Conor are going over the top, though. No problem with people complaining on Ofcom or to Channel 5 but I don't think anyone should be encouraging the police to get involved.

What do you think?

police to get involved is a good point if he was to say that out here he would be in a lot more trouble than a pat on the wrist from his big brother

As I mentioned in one of the other threads about it - this is as much a reaction to how BB handled the issues with Jay last time as it is about how they're handling Conor. If people hadn't already watched Jay get a walk for weeks on end for behavior that should not have been tolerated (let alone swept under the BB rug), they might have a little more faith in Conor having recieved a legitimate talking to in the DR. But, having seen how it was handled last season, they've given the audience no reason to trust that they are honestly interested in anyone's safety over ratings.

probably should have been removed at the time, but it's gone on for too long and people should drop it

Brother Leon 27-06-2012 07:39 PM

Over The Top now.

Finally a 2012 member that isn't conviently defending Conor.

Anyway welcome to TIBB, and I agree with what your saying, although Brother Leon I hope is winding up.

He received a final warning and according to the forum was forced to apologise. That is that. Time to get over it now.

Callum 27-06-2012 07:54 PM

To be fair the fact that it's still the main talking point 2 days on just shows that it's not going to go away like they want it to. Ofcom has received over 1000 complaints and the BB forums are full of posts and threads regarding Conor, as well as the official Facebook page being flooded with comments wanting Conor removed.

If they were to remove him from the house now, I doubt you would see many people complaining. It would have been better had he been taken out straight after it had happened but it's clearly still on a lot of people's minds 2 days on and this could roll on and on all series. It gives the show a bad reputation, too.

Tell me you are joking ? Domestic Abuse charity ????????????:shocked: Its just getting dafter by the second

It would actually most probably be harder to prove in normal everyday life as it would be one persons word against the others, most probably. What he said has been recorded and televised, so the evidence is there. That's why people get arrested for posting hateful stuff on Facebook/Twitter because there is no doubt in what they have actually stated. I am sure the police can draw their own conclusions from the footage once it was brought to their attention.

I recall police being called by members of the public over fight night in BB5 when the live feed was taken down briefly, and they were getting physical in there. Arrests do not come to mind.

Marcus. 27-06-2012 07:58 PM

he got to go

Why is it the main talking point? because loonies keep posting stupid polls,on forums ,when in all honesty no one gives a flying one about what has happened between 2 adults ,they have never met or likely to met on a tv game show, the people doing the phone calls, emaills are as big as attention seekers as the fools who think a poll on a forum is going to change the world, they need to get out more

Mystic Mock 27-06-2012 08:01 PM

Chuff the ratings dropped by 100,000 viewers for Conor's comments, Ch5 can't really afford for what's already a small audience to get any smaller.

Is there an article on this?

Adamw92 27-06-2012 08:06 PM

Justified.

Nothing is gonna be done about it though so I guess it doesn't really matter if it is justified or not.

Why are you making this personal for and using insults? It is the main talking point because a lot of people were angered by Conor's rant. I never said that this poll was going to change the world or make a difference to the show, I just wanted to know what people made of this backlash. Oh and evidently people do "give a flying one" otherwise Ofcom wouldn't have received 1000 complaints. Just because you hate Deana and do not think she was being bullied doesn't mean that everyone feels the same as you.

If calling the police and abuse helplines isn't going over the top, I really don't know what is. Come on. Even you should be able to admit that some of the actions that have been carried out over the past few days have been unnecessary and sad.
