I just cannot believe 1) some people think she is intelligent just because she has an education 2) some people think she is in any way admirable and 3) that this type of behaviour achieves anything in the long term?

I genuinely think Caroline has some sort of personality disorder ... like she's missing some of the emotional receptors of the average human being.

Probably, she's probably had that kind of life where her parents like to keep up appearaces. But I doubt there is much of a bond with them.
