Random bump but my opinion of 2009 has actually changed, Rihanna/Beyonce//Britney/Kelly Clarkson/Lily Allen/Mariah Carey/Ciara/T.I/Keri Hilson/Jamie Foxx/Shakira/Jay-Z/Alicia Keys/Kanye West/50 Cent/Ne-Yo released good or great singles/albums that year :worship: and Flo Rida was actually tolerable

The X Factor ruined music

I'm really bad at discerning between exact years of the noughties because it's all been such wank.

2000-2003 were the skater/wrestlin VT Nu Metal years for me. POD, Drowning Pool, Creed hell I even took a crack at liking Korn at one point in time. If you were on the sountrack to The Matrix welcome to my life.

2004 was all about going back to classic metal. Scuzz was amazing that summer.

2005 at 14 years of age saw me 'mature' into my short lived indie days. I had a Bravery single, thought Doves were fairly neat, thought Bloc Party were prettt damn organic and traded the filth of Scuzz for the clean rush of MTV2 and it's sonic modesty.

Gstar 22-10-2013 02:54 PM

2009 wasn't a bad year for music, like all of the reasons Shaun said

The only thing I hated about 2009 music was when JLS's song (she makes me want to oh oh oh) stopped Beyonce - Sweet dreams on getting #1

Music will never die, they'll always be great music to listen to, you don't have to listen to whatever is currently popular with this generation, go out and discover, there's tons of the stuff out there.

That is what is so depressing. We have access to more music than any other generation in human history and some people still live and die by what is in their immediate bubble of ponce and have never stepped outside it. I see people debating which X Factor songs are the prettiest and I am like seriously? That is where you are putting your thought?

Redway 22-10-2013 03:14 PM

I suppose what's also saddening is the fact that in an age where supposedly high-quality music can be achieved through little more than a laptop the mainstream stuff is increasingly bad.

Mystic Mock 22-10-2013 05:01 PM

I like Music in every year tbh, obviously some years are worse than others but overall there's at least one mainstream song in a year that's good.
