The precedent of halfing the money was set last year, so HMs applying for this years show must have expected it unless they are dumb.

There would be very little point having two "nice" HMs fighting it out in the white room, as most would be saying..ah bless they deserve the cash...this causes way more controversy, and dont tell me you wont be tuning in tomorrow night to see how this plays out and have rage against who takes the money.

50K for 9 weeks of sitting on your arse is still nice in anyones language.

Plus Luke S and Conor have both been up for eviction and been saved so they do have some fans... it would have been alot worse had it been someone who had never faced the public vote, and it would have been even worse if it had been Becky...so every cloud.

The fact that it's half OF THE PRIZE FUND is what makes it so stupid. If it was separate money, then fair enough, you're playing for double of what you could've taken, but with this, the only thing you could gain is the title, and neither of these guys stand a chance at that.

This, it's the fact that they're talking money away from the winner and giving it to someone else which isn't fair.

Halfwit 02-08-2012 11:31 PM

by giving them half of the price money the producers make them basically win bb since they get the same amount than the real bb winner this year, this whole white room has been a bad joke...
everyone who is still throwing money at ch5 after this can't be right in his mind.

yeah right... they want the experience of winning the money, which is handed to them now.

rionablue 02-08-2012 11:32 PM

I'm FURIOUS. The WHOLE prize money should go to the housmate the general public crown as their winner. NO WAY should half of it be offered to two of the least deserving, horrible, vain, chauvinistic creeps. FED UP1111111111111

whocares 02-08-2012 11:32 PM

didnt bb tell them before they went into the white room/decided who was going to go in there that they could win a prize that money couldnt buy? lol

If neither Luke S nor Conor take the cash tomorrow night a twist will decide who wins the free pass to the final #bbuk

Gizmo 02-08-2012 11:34 PM

It completely sucks. The show is dead now imo

reece(: 02-08-2012 11:35 PM

They're not getting any more of my money, spiteful bastards.

Would probably just be the other housemates deciding who wins it.

They can give them money, just not out of the prize fund. We vote for our favourties to get that.

This.

I don't mind the twist, even if I dislike them both.

If it was 50k not from the fund, I'd be fine.

Jack_ 02-08-2012 11:50 PM

I think the thing about taking it from the fund though is it'll piss the rest of the housemates off (well, you'd think). That's the desired effect I would've thought.

I mean think about it, one of them is walking away with half of the prize fund which is now the same amount the winner gets! It's completely unfair. Especially since more than half of the house wasn't even eligible. It's like "Hey - Scott, Conor, Sara, Luke S, one of you guys gets half the prize fund for getting the least nominations this week from family members! Woo!". It doesn't even make sense.

Oh then yes, 100% I agree. It's the most poorly thought out, ******ed up mess they've ever created.

I honestly don't even think they think like that.

To be completely honest, they are wankers. They could of just gave one of the lads 25K. But HALF the prize fund?

It's a kick in the balls. It's a poorly thought out twist.

Had Channel 4 of done this, the public would of voted 3 housemates into the white room - and we'd of been informed right from the start, what was going to happen. OR The Housemates themselves would of nominated 3 housemates, in confidentiality - to compete for the prize.

Flamingjoe 03-08-2012 12:02 AM

I couldn't agree more.

Jords 03-08-2012 12:02 AM

A load of old ****e tbh, very disappointing and Ch5 love to anger their fans for 'controversy'

I could tolerate £25K or even £50K not from the prize money, but this takes the out and out piss.

Shameful.

anto42 03-08-2012 12:04 AM

reminds me of eugene back in bb 6 who took half the prize fund as well

Jords 03-08-2012 12:07 AM

Eugene would have won anyway if he hadnt taken it

Its mainly because of the HMs its being offered to, awarding arseholes that have not been good HMs is disgusting.

I really enjoyed what BB9 did with the Prisoner's dilemma between Lisa and Sara.

This has got to be the worst and most unfair twist in the history of Big Brother.

They've taken away half of the prize fund to give it to one of those two mongs for sitting in a ****ing room for 3 days?

So only 1 gets the money and if they chose it they get evicted, yeah? And the other gets a pass to the final? Why would either of them want a pass to the final to win the same amount of money they would for leaving, but now with only a 1/5 chance of winning it? It's so poorly thought out and idiotic.

Fair enough if it's 10,000 or 25,000. But half of the bloody prize fund?

It's completely unfair to the winner that the PUBLIC is voting for.

STOP. ****ING. WITH. THE. PRIZE. FUND.

Exactly. It doesnt make any sense, its beyond ridiculus.
Even the fricking crypt manages to be better than this sh*t twist.
Last year they also messed with the prize fund, but at least the top 5 got to share it between them...and that was bad. Then imagine wht this year is.
It's like C5 are trying to get it axed.

That is quite a valid point there. Usually when they have messed with the prize money in the past, it is only when they are down to the last five or six as far as I can recall. On top of that I don't think they have ever made so many last minute changes to a one task that involves the money especially.
