That's great rating IMHO, I didn't expect it to do so well if I'm honest.

The live feed viewing is just a blip we have all moved on from live feed right? ;)

DanielLuis 16-08-2012 10:48 AM

To be honest I think CBB will possibly grow in ratings. Many teens wil hear that The Situation is in the house and will tune in. Same for other celebs. It might grow.

Jarrod 16-08-2012 11:19 AM

Will get about 3 Million officially.

Even my mum watched it last night, and she hasn't watched Big Brother since BB2

daniel-lewis-1985 16-08-2012 12:11 PM

I honestly think ratings will grow aswell.

That would be good, let's hope so.

I too reckon ratings could do well this series.

Much better than i was expecting, Whats the +1?

Find it hilarious though that the regular launch beat it!

Could possibly average 2 million but will probs go down the same route as BB13 now.

I'd be very surprised if it went under 2 million on a weekday this series, CBB9 launched with 3.5m and averaged 2.6, get 2.8 some nights and this cast is better. If the live feed got 1.7m at 11pm, the first highlights show shouldn't get less than 2m.

jackc1806 16-08-2012 12:57 PM

Anyone think tonights could beat the launch figures? I had loads of people on Twitter saying they were gonna watch tonight and it was still trending this morning??

MTVN 16-08-2012 12:59 PM

They were even talking about it on Radio 2 this morning and saying how good it was

BB IS ALIVE 16-08-2012 01:11 PM

It's still trending now, i think the ratings will do quite well, there is definitely a lot of interest.

Black Dagger 16-08-2012 01:23 PM

It's obvious CBB is massive, which IMO it's a shame, because it was supposed to only be a spin-off to the civilian show and it's likely that we'll be only getting 2 series of CBB a year after BB14 I reckon.

Probably down to the repeat rather than last night, as it wasn't trending this morning, but a repeat trending does bode well.

'Despite the relative underperformance, it was still one of C5’s best rating shows since the last series of the spin-off – discounting Europa League football – and was the channel’s biggest show of the night, beating BBC2 and Channel 4.

The launch peaked with 3.16m (17.44%) over the five-minute period from 10.30pm and smashed C5’s slot average of 1.25m (5.97%) for the past 12 months.

It was followed by a special live half an hour broadcast from within the Big Brother house, enabling viewers to see the housemates settle into their new surroundings. It was seen by 1.66m (14%) from 11pm to 11.30pm, according to overnight Barb figures supplied by Attentional.'

A pretty good peak imo, and it neat Ch4 and 2. What do you think tonights will rate. Im going with 2.1.

Locke. 16-08-2012 02:12 PM

Good ratings for the live feed but pretty poor for the launch, think it'll probably manage to stay above 2m though

daniel-lewis-1985 16-08-2012 02:15 PM

Remember 1 year ago when CBB8 launched with over 5 million and had an 8 million peak? Seems impossible now doesnt it lol.

I would be happy if the ratings stay steady for this series, just have a feeling it will be a grower.

The situation was completely different though, it was pissing down, it followed CBB7 and BB11, it was the first Channel 5 series and it had loads of promotion.

Jake. 16-08-2012 02:56 PM

Just incase it wasn't posted
Overall, BBC One secured primetime with 21.5% ahead of ITV1's 17.8% (+1: 0.3%). Channel 5 enjoyed third place with 8.3% (+1: 0.2%) beating BBC Two's 6.3% and Channel 4's 5.9% (+1: 0.9%).

Lets not blame the weather lol.

I was just saying its hard to believe BB actually got 5 million only last year.

Unthinkable now.

Quite good for the launch especially after the flop final.

It's relevent actually, generally, the worse the weather, the more people there are watching television, look at the soap ratings during the summer, they loose 2 million every year, everything does, but the January CBB7 was on, everything was doing better than usual because it was cold and snowing, that's why all the best stuff's on in the winter.

You never know. The weather is a substantial factor in viewing figures. If it's raining, for example, people are far more likely to be indoors - hence the increased amount of people watching television at that time.

Although I agree with you in the sense that I didn't see the launch getting 5m either. But 1.7m is good enough (for now).

I don't think anyone genuinely saw last night getting 5 million.
