Only child but I'm very close to some of my cousins, which I have a lot of. :D

Barely seen mine in 2 years, and it's only a half on the dads side so doesn't really count

Not really, me and my sister are so different in our personalties that we clash. I avoid interaction with her as much as possible.

Yeah quite well, my brother used to annoy me a lot but I guess as we got older and both left for Uni we started getting on better, he's only a year older and we share quite similar social circles so I end up spending quite a lot of time with him

I get on with both of my brothers but we're not especially close - my younger brother gets on with most of my mates and sometimes hangs out with us but it doesn't go the other way; and my older brother is in his 30s and is married so beyond having a sense of humour and family in common we don't have much to talk about...

I'm really close to my brother, but dont see him much as he lives in NY now,we used to fight loads but as we got older we got close,my sister is also close but we still bicker over stuff, but,we love each other.

Well, I still consider myself an only child despite having two young half sisters. Too young to bond with.

lostalex 31-08-2012 05:34 PM

I'm super close with my brother. He's only a year younger though, so we are close enuf in age to have gone through everything together, and we had the same groups of friends in high school, so we did everything together. I can't imagine being an only child.

I'm like this with my eldest brother, although he's not married and he's only 24. He demands that I respect him and we never have small talk, almost all our conversations are formal  It's funny because he's the complete opposite with his friends and is the more jokey-type who loves to mess about.

I don't like people that arn't close with their siblings. I think it's a sign of psychological disfunction. If you can't even get along with yur own brothers and sisters, how can you be trusted to be loyal to anyone else?

How does not being close to your siblings mean you don't love them?

I meant get along with. And these are the people that have known you the most, people that know you better than anyone else on the planet, so if they don't like you, what does that say?

Some people may have siblings that are homophobic.. when they are gay, or have siblings who have attacked them :s

I get what you mean, but then some people are polar opposites and they fight all the time but if someone outside of the family dared do something to one of them, they'd do anything to protect the sibling they usually fight all the time with... families are weird.

Niall 31-08-2012 06:48 PM

I barely see my brother nowadays. I've never really been close to him either. Even though I'm not, I've always felt more like an only child. We're both polar opposites so neither of us have all that much in common. Plus my brother is 10 years older than me. We just never have anything to talk about.

Mystic Mock 01-09-2012 12:34 AM

Me and my Sister used to fight each other all the time, now we get on great, me and my Brother have always got along though strangely.

Well it's not like you can do anything about them being your brothers and sisters. You're stuck with them and they can be very annoying.
