Maybe we are all a bit shocked by the contrived 'brassy' image/persona she puts forward. So many have been unkind about her looks and I suspect they then may feel a little guilty for being unkind about a woman of her age. Might all be to do with the notion that in general terms not many of us see a woman with bleached blonde waist length hair, dressed in leopard-skin, effing and jeffing when they are 70. The chewing gum and cigarettes also contribute to the 'brassy' image. She can't be that bad if she rescues horses and dogs - I also read that she is registered disabled...I keep going round in circles with Julie - I want to like her but I am not sure if I want to like her image. I would love to see her made over with a nice (shorter) hairstyle in a more appropriate colour and I would like her to lose the leopard. She has had some off the best one-liners in the show...So she is entertaining - far more so than the pseudo-gangsta crew.

Im sorry, but rescuing horses and being disabled(pity it wasnt her tongue) or the leopard print, smoking, chewing gum, age, isnt why she should not win CBB, its her vile personality that should stop her ever winning a gameshow where we chose nice people to win

One word YES

Suze 04-09-2012 09:52 AM

I believe Julie has earned a place in the final, yes. Pity she is unlikely to get it now though.

Ellen 04-09-2012 09:58 AM

She has definatly earned a place in the final without a doubt. Apart from Julie,Julian & Mike the rest should have gone ages ago.

chuff me dizzy 04-09-2012 10:04 AM

With these odds she earned exactly what she deserves ....her ass out of the door on Wednesday ,fav to go now in several places

Yes for sure, Julie should be in the final over the rest of the kiddy wink dullards like Ashley, Harvey or the occassional table. Save Julie!

flamingGalah! 04-09-2012 12:56 PM

YES!!!! She has made CBB, she is brilliant TV & fully deserves to at least be in the final... Unfortunately that two faced snake Martin Kemp & that vile bitter old hag Coleen Nolan have seen to it that she will likely be out tomorrow night :nono:

swinearefine 04-09-2012 12:58 PM

She has been the star since Jasmine left, and it will be a travesty if Lorenzo and Martin beat her. I think she's a two-faced bitch, but you can't deny the entertainment she's provided.

Even though it might help them win with the sympathy votes, I don't care, and hope Julie rips them both to pieces in her interview and on BOTs and lets us into some home truths about them both :)

SocietyIsRuined 04-09-2012 02:44 PM

Of course she deserves to be in the final. How Ashley is there is beyond me. I keep forgetting he's on the show.

I can understand why some people don't like Julie, hey, even if you have someone who does everything right and never swears or has any visible bad habits, some people will still not like them and get at them.

Julie would be thr first to say she has faults and I really cannot see where she has been that nasty about anyone, she may have played a good few of them at times and been 2 faced too, well Coleen Nolan is the absolute mistress as to being 2 faced in fact she is 50 faced.

In the house Julie has shown herself completely, the listening side, the nice side, the bad side, the devious side and the humerous side.

Out of the house she has many good things to her credit and status. A long career on Corrie, winning many awards for her acting, she also receieved an MBE too, however I only learned recently as well as her love of animals, that she was diagnosed with and fought cervical cancer.
Something she kept quiet for decades but having beaten it ,she then set up a Julie Goodyear charity for Cancer too.

They are not the actions of a bad person. At 70, I have always said well done to her for even going in the BB house, I would find it hard at 20 never mind 70.

From day one she has entertained me and all I watch BB with.I haven't liked the ganging up against her by the housemates this week and whether they are to peoples taste or not, I was stunned BB allowed her clothes to be mocked and held up like auction items in the diary room.

She isn't likely to stay tomorrow unless the Corrie army of fans really do get out to vote for her but she does in my view deserve to stay.
I rate Martin massively but I am disappointed at the very least he chose to nominate her this final time.
I thought better of him, since he has said all she has said as to some others just not as forcefully as she did.

Good luck to her and for me she has done really well to stay in the house right up until the last 2 days if she does go tomorrow.
I respect age and admire spirit, Julie has been a really good, entertaining housemate, her and Julian particularly together have made this series all through.

HBB1508 04-09-2012 03:12 PM

Well said Joey - I don't like Julie but she does deserve to be in the final, as you rightly say the Jules have made this series. I take my hat off to anyone who does BB as it would drive me insane being locked up with a bunch of people that I probably wouldn't get on with and even if I did just having no freedom would do me in. I hope Julie manages to get to Friday as she has earned a place imo.

Actually, much as I dislike the old trout, I was shocked to see the scene in the Diary Room where her clothes were held up for ridicule.

This is her personal private property and BB has no right whatsoever to ask for HM to collect her clothes. If I had been one of the guys I would have refused point blank, the fact that Julie allowed it to happen is all to her credit.

Perhaps Wed night's eviction isn't as cut and dried as I'd thought..!!!

Yes, she has earned her place in the final if she stays, so has Martin to a degree but I nver believed he would ever nominate Julie,I was really surprised he did that on the very last set of noms, while again like the miserable Coleen never saying anything to her face.

What a bunch of wimps and cowards, that they have supposedly seen and heard all her talking about people but none have pulled her up on it, while also in the main they are also doing the same thing themselves.

I have rarely come across anyone more false as Coleen is, after all she has said as to Julie all series how she had the cheek to hug Julie after she had been nominated for eviction is beyond belief.

Martin has been briefing against Julie for at least a week. Constantly going on about her. Lost all respect for him as no one laughed more than him over bananagate.

I kind of understand what you are saying because at times she has been openly friendly then immediately unkind behind people's back. At times her comments are acidic rather than acerbic aren't they?

I have always been a bit guarded on being too outspoken about other people's failings since a friend of mine pointed out that we condemn in other people the qualities we dislike most about ourselves. We notice the things we don't like about ourselves far quicker in others ...

To be honest I don't think I've verbalised a strong dislike since then - in case people see it in me (gulp)...I must admit - it doesn't stop me thinking it though:laugh:

I looked at 'Who do you want evicted' and Julie is now very close to Martin. It is down to Julie's fans to vote for her.

It is up to the public to save her. We have seen other housemates in other series disliked by housemates and then saved by the public.
Coleen is smiling because she has been saved by the public Julie has not, yet.

Fendertele 04-09-2012 05:54 PM

I hope Julie stays, she has played a good game and deserves a place in the final. The rest of 'em talk so much 'sh-te!'

Angus 04-09-2012 06:24 PM

I loathe Harvey and Ashley and despise Mike but it goes to show how much I dislike Julie when I say I'd rather any of those three won over her.

I prefer ANYONE to win ,but Julie

smudgie 04-09-2012 07:41 PM

No, she needs to be first out. Such shameful behaviour should not be rewarded.
