I think something will happen between Declan/Megan/Robbie. Carl is too obvious. I think Declan might be killed in a rage by one of them. Nothing like a murder at home farm..

Not to mention that there's so much storyline potential left with the Kings, killing Carl would leave just Jimmy. I'd say Declan has it coming more than Carl does, Carl is doing what he is doing because he's in love with Chas and just wants to make a go of it, he has kind of snapped too, Declan is doing what he is doing out of spite.

"and a whodunnit following the death of a much-loved character."

So it's a murder!

Someone suggested this over at DS:

I just think it all subtly points towards Jimmy being killed off on Wednesday night...

He is a 'much loved' character, fairly popular with Emmerdale viewers and he is loved by his family.

I predict he'll get into a serious fight with Carl, resulting in Carl accidentally killing him. Carl does have form and it'll be reminiscent of Emmerdale past, when Carl was involved with the death of that postman falling off the roof and then also killing his dad.

Jimmy gets caught in the crossfire when Cameron and Carl are fighting, and Carl kills him by accident. Cameron helps Carl cover it up, in exchange that he keeps his affair with Chas quiet and doesn't reveal it to Debbie. And also on condition that he stays away from Chas and tells her it'll always be over between them. Then Cameron will worm his way back into Chas's affections again, knowing Carl will be staying away...

that's how I think it's going to go anyway

That would be interesting, but I recently rewatched the promo for the live ep,
Spoiler:

Jimmy is still alive in an unshown scene, and he says something like "I snapped, I wanted to kill him" while looking worried, though notice the wording 'wanted to'

Maybe not then.... They have done well to keep it such a secret. It makes it all the more exciting to watch and hopefully be surprised regarding events. We get too many spoilers these days. It's going to be gripping stuff fingers crossed.

I agree, I really hope its not one of the King brothers, but I have this nagging feeling that it is

Well Carl would be the complete obvious choice. He will be seething with Chas for stringing him along and he despises Cameron. He will want to "out" their affair to get back at them both, and the pair of them have so much to lose, they might go to any lengths to silence him. Maybe not murder him intentionally, but in the heat of the moment things could happen.

We know that Megan is not finished yet though, and Declan has double crossed Robbie, again, in tonight's episode. He won't want to let that go. As you stated, that scene seemed a bit idyllic tonight with Declan and Katie after the wedding. Like everything was so perfect for them, but how long will it last? Katie will then become his widow though and everything will go to her surely.

Not as many options as I thought there would be, I initially thought dan, but then it might be a good way for ashley to redeem himself?
