I read about it too. I like it that he isn't using his tragic past to get sympathy votes by rubbing it in our faces every show.

I was in tears reading his story,I was expecting the usual 'my parents divorced' or 'I'm doing this for my gran/grandad who passed away' his childhood sounded horrific! and then to lose his big brother...:(
What an amazing person to survive and succeed after that...
He is a very special person.

Just read the very unfair article that claims jahmene won't sing Katie Perrys 'last friday night'
due to his teetotal beliefs.
Good for you Jahmene! don't be afraid to stand up for your principles, well done! :D
There are thousands of other songs to sing, 100% support from me on this.

Raph 17-11-2012 11:35 AM

Very excited to see him perform again tonight! :)

Wonderful Woman 17-11-2012 03:14 PM

If the story is true, then I agree that it's good that he's standing by his beliefs and it's a crap song anyway :D Go jahmene!

Supermarket chain ASDA has named a Chinese takeaway meal after The X Factor's Jahmene Douglas.

Bosses are showing their support for the singer, who used to work in one of the firm's shops, by releasing a limited edition chicken chow mein which will be available nationwide until Sunday 18 November.

The packaging features a picture of the aspiring pop star and 23 pence from each sale will be donated to charity Women's Aid.

A spokesperson for the shop said: “We're so proud of Jahmene and all the incredible performances he does week in, week out on The X Factor, so we really want to get behind him and offer our support.

“Chicken chow mein is a weekend favourite, and we hope that by renaming it after him, we'll be able to raise lots of money for Women's Aid.”

The dish will cost £2.25

I'm sure that the media is making a mountain from a molehill as per.....
I really hope he doesen't let this negative press affect him.
The public can be gullible and gobble this gossip up....*sigh*

Kizzy 18-11-2012 07:48 PM

Well done jahmene!

Wonderful Woman 18-11-2012 08:03 PM

Congrats Jahmene :D, he should have this in the bag, if he manages to defeat the juggernaut that is Christopher Maloney.
