I read about it too. I like it that he isn't using his tragic past to get sympathy votes by rubbing it in our faces every show.

I was in tears reading his story,I was expecting the usual 'my parents divorced' or 'I'm doing this for my gran/grandad who passed away' his childhood sounded horrific! and then to lose his big brother...:(
