And a mother smoking in the house with the baby that is born isn't bad?
I don't think you're seeing the point here- either way smoking isn't healthy for a child.

I was actually asking a relevant question which would have been followed up when I had more information....once again you are acting true to form and attacking people who dare to have an opinion other than yours...

You know nothing of me or my views, I have expressed no opinion in this other than to appreciate the post of another member which I felt was well constructed. I have my own, personal views on this matter which I would have expressed before your vitriolic posts. All I know of you is you are unable to have an adult debate.

I have learnt my lesson well and will steer clear of you and your threads from now on.

Of course Im seeing that point, smoking is bad period. its you whose not seeingthe point. when a childs in the womb its infinitely more fragile and its life is far more at risk than when it is a child at a later stage in development. I hate smokingand passive smoking is horrible. butsmoking when pregnant has more chance of actually disabling and killing a child than at any other stage in their lives (if they have a life)

She asked a relevant question earlier in the thread and ended up being attacked by you.

As for the topic, of course it can be unhealthy for the baby if a mother smokes while pregnant but the stress of trying to stop can also be very dangerous and some doctors actually advise women not to stop altogether and instead cut right down because of this.

So my opinion is it's up to the individual person whether they want to quit smoking or not and no I wouldn't advise my friends to stop, that's up to them to make that decision on their own.

Weren't you gonna buy an icecream van and sell icecream to fat kids and give them diabetes? Do you realise that about 3 and a half million people die from diabetes a year?

So how could you feel it's ok to hound pregnant women with your barrage of holier than thou statics and morals.

And I'm sure you've done more damage to our environment than most others here, also little kids breath in the fumes belched out from your fleet of cars. Where is your love of people then? Or do you only care about the unborn?

:laugh2:

Bravo Miss, Bravo.

If I were in the position where I had a surrogate carrying my child then yes, I would ask her not to smoke because I'd be worrying about the health of the kid. And it's not really her kid either, so.

But for women in general, then it's not something I can really judge given the fact that I'm a man and I'll never be pregnant myself etc.

I dont at all. I know a woman who killed 2 of her children from smoking while pregant.

That being said, it is all about moderation. You should be able to give your kid an ice cream cone every once in a while just like the baby would probably be fine if the pregnant woman had a smoke every once in a while ( if she RLY had to). I think it is absolutely ridiculous people saying they should smoke however much they want when pregnant, people have to have responsibility for their children ffs
