There were a few Magdalene Laundries, I *think* the one in the film was in Dublin but there's similar stories in this one too

I feel really angry when I see buildings like this...
especially when you think of the work and the time that went into them.
I can appreciate the dark pasts of the magdalene laundry, however could it not be turned into something to benefit young mothers in some way?

...have you seen the beautiful old chateau ruins in France..?..it's very sad but no one has the money to do anything with them...

Give them away....
Before they become so dilapidated, to charities?....
In this country at least, any building uninhabitable that could be brought back into use should be?....
As we are at saturation point population wise?

Have you checked out the urban exploration threads Ammi? theres a link to an entire forum about it and they have tons of pics, some are really interesting and some are also a bit sad like the old hospitals and asylums etc.

..oh, no I'll check that out Josy, thank you...I find them sad and beautiful at the same time...and I always wonder what the building's story is....

..I found some German ones and the buildings themselves were lovely...but, by the internal photos, I think they may have been used for torture or something...they looked like previous private houses as well...I can't imagine how it would feel if somewhere you had lived, was then used for something like that...

..I would restore this and live here....
