The youtube videos I have seen are not promising in any way, shape or form. Bar Jaackmaate

its one of the best day's ever, and it gives you a bigger connection to the show and you never know you could meet a possible housemate.
i dont think open audition's will comeback, its about money, they reduced the venue's and now they have stoped them.

The problem with open auditions was evident in BB12 I felt.

With only London and Manchester venues all we got was English housemates.

There were no Scottish, Welsh, Irish, etc.

Having them online will give people a more equal chance, wherever they are located.

For example, there is no way I would have gone to London to do an audition from Ireland, but I've uploaded a video.

yes but the problem is!, if you get a call back you will have to go to london or manchester and if you do well you will have to do it a few times!
i knew a girl that was flying in from france! she got down to the last 50

Obviously yeah.

Though I wouldn't mind paying for flights if I knew they were at least the slightest bit interested in having me as a HM.

I mean, my student grant has to be spent on something lol

:joker:, thats the thing with bigbrother, they give everyone the same old flannel.

TheManWhoLaughs 27-01-2013 09:37 PM

The ones who have made videos still have to impress in the Diary Room and group sessions like before. Jackmaaaaaaate may have impressed with his video but he got down to becoming a guinea-pig after going through all the other stages as well; if he was ****, they could have just got rid of him then. If you're going to be a decent housemate, it shouldn't be hard to be engaging for 90 seconds.

They pay for your travel if you get through to the later stages of the auditions :) Not sure you'd get away with a flight though, think it's about a £100 maximum travel budget per auditionee.

I still think open auditions are better :/

This is old news, but whilst I agree with maybe not having open auditions - and it makes sense, they're kidding themselves. Open Auditions only came into play for BB5 onwards, when the show was massive and everyone wanted to be apart of it.

Now, that's hardly the case - so it makes sense to do the BB10 thing and have an online option instead.

HOWEVER, they can take their talent spotters and get to ******. It's Big Brother, not Britain's Got Talent or Celebrity Hijack. I want normal housemates, not people who were put in because they were busking outside Boots on the high street.

It's hard to tell from a one minute clip, I don't envy the producers, having to look past the cliches.

Yeah that's true

Marc 28-01-2013 10:40 AM

No open auditions probably means no normal people, just those who are semi-famous and pretty.

From their tweets a few weeks ago, expect a cabaret singer, a mixed martial artist, a cage fighter, a fitness fanatic, a beauty queen and wrestler.

Jake. 28-01-2013 11:59 AM

Shame, the BB13 cast was fantastic

DigitalSid 28-01-2013 12:02 PM

Though, on the plus side they do seem to be looking for a less London centric group:

If the 'wrestler' is as flawless as Faye, I'm all for it.

Havn't we had all these types of housemates before? I want to see some goth or punk rocker to go in. I don't blame the producers or whoever getting out on the streets and persuading people to audition. Normal people on the streets, maybe people at Uni's, etc..

I want older people in there as well. A good few in their 30's/40's I hope.

I think it probably is a good idea not to have open auditions. You put a youtube video up and if they are interested you will probably go straight from round 2. Really I hope you go straight from round 3 with the massive questionnaire. This way they will have time to see more people in more detail, rather than the long and exhausting open audition process from the picking pens and round 2 which is like a 1/a few minutes job interview.

They changed Round 2 last year - it used to be a one-on-one with the producers but now it's more just like a mini-version of the group stage you do if you get past the Diary Room bit. I'd expect that's what they'll start with, as it'd be easy enough to get through 10-12 people at once in big groups like that.

A rocker Chick would be good. Or a skater girl like Estelle from BBAUS  Preferably another posh girl, but one who isn't the spawn of Satan like Caroline.

over the year's the audition process has got easier for sure,
the evils day's when round two was sell your self to bb for a minute with six mini diary room's in one room at once!,that's when around 25,000 people auditioned.
