All the Amy Poehler all the time .

Alf 29-01-2013 12:28 AM

Not as funny as men, but there is the odd rarity, Caroline Aherne is a comedy genius, Miranda Richardson as Queenie in Blackadder was funny, i'm struggling after that.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 29-01-2013 12:28 AM

90s comedians, were a lot funnier though.
And personally, I know some extremely funny girls. Not as many as guys, but thats because I have more guy friends naturally.

Roy Mars III 29-01-2013 01:48 AM

in a natural setting, yes.

but there are no funny female comedians besides Roseanne Barr

However, in terms of writing and acting - particularly in the states - women are equal if not superior. Amy Poehler is probably the best person alive right now. Love Tina Fey, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lena Dunham (&all of 'Girls'), Aubrey Plaza, Jo Brand, Kerry Godliman, Joanna Scanlan, Tamsin Grieg...

Oh, and Jenna Maroney is the best character on TV right now.

i could never like anything with Julia Louis-Dreyfus. yea and that includes Seinfeld lol.

i like 30 Rock but im glad its ending after this season. its been rough for me to get through these last 2-3 seasons cause the character of Tracy & Jenna are f'ing retarded imo. its just dumb. the main reason i watch this show is Tina Fey & Alec Baldwin. even though their characters get involved with those two annoying douchers from time to time it makes it a lot easier to get through it.

Niamh. 29-01-2013 09:11 AM

Yes, there are less female comedians than male, I do love sarah millican though. In real life women are hilarious

Niamh. 29-01-2013 09:12 AM

Good results, stick that in your pipe and smoke it Joe :pipe:

I'd never seen anything of JLD's until Veep, which she's excellent in.

And :nono: Tracy and Jenna are brilliant. They're meant to be obnoxious, stupid and vapid. It's fun. I find it interesting that Tracy Morgan's had a few problems off-stage, though, with offending people... some infamous thing about saying he'd disown his son were he to come out as gay, during a stand-up routine. Weird.

Kenneth, however, may challenge Jenna for the best character title

Marcus. 29-01-2013 09:25 AM

yes they are funny

Samuel. 29-01-2013 09:30 AM

I don't find female comedians funny, but a few of my female friends are. More by just being silly/idiots than making jokes.

I've named two in the thread that are funny, what more do you want :nono:

Niamh. 29-01-2013 10:51 AM

Blood.

InOne 29-01-2013 10:55 AM

Is this you trying to be funny Niamh? :pipe:

i gave Veep a chance but just wasnt feeling it.

i know what they're meant to be like. i just got tired of it after awhile. just dont find it all that funny anymore. same goes for Kenneth.

Tom4784 29-01-2013 12:36 PM

I agree with what Shaun said, men tend to be better at Stand Up and women hold their own at the TV/Film aspects.

Slevin 29-01-2013 12:39 PM

i think its more like overall men are better at stand-up and its about the same for tv/film. it just depends.

Jesus. 29-01-2013 12:48 PM

The funniest person I know is a woman. But then again, some of my friends are black.

Kazanne 29-01-2013 01:33 PM

Of course we are InOne,
Sure God created man before woman, but then again you always make a rough draft before creating the final masterpiece
