But I only really go on holidays when my mom offers to take me, and if I feel up to going on one.

I don't own much of value (although I do have an ebook reader, laptop and ipod and a few hundred books) so I guess it's a lot more than a large percentage of the people in the world. I tend not to spend much each week and yep I can go to the cinema as often as I like because I pay for a monthly membership.

Also if I really wanted something I could ask my mom and she'd get it for me.

So yea I don't think of myself as poor, but also I'm far from rich, I don't have great material wealth or a large income each week.

My mum and dad are well off and I'm fortunate to have a really well paid job.

I'm just rolling in the cash tbh :idc:

when my grandad dies I'll be set for life nearly

id rather him not die tho

Mrluvaluva 05-02-2013 12:13 AM

Neither really. I don't generally want anything, as I think I have most things. I don't need the newest thing every week. I am happy with what I have. I would like a smart TV, but I do not need it. I have a TV, stereo, phone, food, clothes, games console blah blah, so I suppose I consider myself pretty well off, even though I do not have a huge amount of ready cash. I have been at both ends of the scale, but I have always made the best of what I have. Status does not interest me. I don't need to keep up with the Jones's.

Ive always driven a broken down crap car to ward off the types of social climbing snobs who judge people by superficial drivel like what type of car they drive. it gives me a cheap thrill to honk my horn and humiliate one of these materialistic mooks. ive never worn designer anything, no sunbeds, no tatooes and no high heels either

Oh, thought this was a private poll. My family have quite a lot of money, I myself am not rich though. I have a well paid job and I pretty much do everything I want in life and get the things I want, but that is more through hard work and saving then anything else. I actually hate coming from a 'rich' family, most of my family are quite snooty and stuck-up when it comes to social class and money.

We're not ric, far from it in fact, but we have a roof over our heads, food in the cupboards and we're all healthy, the kids are getting an education, we go on holidays, have a decent car and live in a decent area so we're actually some of the wealthiest people in the world :)

Ammi 05-02-2013 08:34 PM

...awww, that's a lovely thing to say Lee....and very true...

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't say no to a nice wee lottery win, living mortgage free for ever and maybe a nice wee holiday home in Italy, but in general I'm not one to moan about what i havent got, I prefer to be thankful for what we do have. :)

Ammi 06-02-2013 09:56 AM

King Gizzard 06-02-2013 10:01 AM

use to be quite well off for money when before my parents split, my parents didn't have massive jobs but my dad saved like crazy, tight bastard, lived in a massive house as a kid, but suppose I just get by now

Jesus. 06-02-2013 10:04 AM

I don't think so Ammi. Laws are set up to protect people like me, from people like you.

Not having a go at the OP here, but I find the topic a little distasteful. Nobody remembers possessions when people die. We only remember deeds.

I agree

Ammi 06-02-2013 10:13 AM

..yeah, I agree as well but I don't think the OP meant anything by it..just a light hearted topic I think...
