Marc 08-02-2013 11:53 AM

No I was also making a point, a valid one. Like I said there are plenty of examples where it HAS happened. There has even been TV Programmes on it, so why would I need to 'get real'.

Your way of approaching a debate is aggressive and rude, I'm surprised at 31 years old you can't see that or understand that somethings got to change if you want to remain on here.

lostalex 08-02-2013 11:53 AM

I guess i'm just : crazy : then.

I apologize if you felt I was being aggressive or rude. Frankly I thought it was aggressive and rude of you to claim that Aussies are some how HORRIBLE towards Brits.

I'm not an Aussie or a Brit, so i have no bias.

Kazanne 08-02-2013 11:56 AM

Canada.

Marc 08-02-2013 11:56 AM

I didn't say they were 'HORRIBLE'

If you're not even willing to accept my side on this or even look it up then why should I bother continuing with this debate?

Marc 08-02-2013 11:57 AM

And bias doesn't even factor in to it. My opinion is based on other people's experiences.

We arn't having a "debate". I'm just responding in a thread dude. Why are you so offended by someone responding to something that you said? We disagree. is that okay?

Marc 08-02-2013 12:01 PM

Of course it is but you can't claim I'm totally wrong because I have an opinion different to yours.

Suze 08-02-2013 12:02 PM

Canada. I have quite a few cousins in Canada also.

Fair enuf. You don't wanna go to Australia, lol, more beach for me :P

My only point was that i don't think Aussies are more discriminatory towards Brits than any other foreigners. I'm sure there are plenty of Aussies that would give me an earful over George Bush and the Iraq war when i go to Australia. And i'm sure plenty of chinese and indians get similar prejudices against them when they travel to australia, just like any country in the world. That's just world travel though.

I don't believe the Aussies have any kind of special hate for Brits. That's all i'm saying.

Kizzy 08-02-2013 12:14 PM

Canada ay...

LemonJam 08-02-2013 12:28 PM

I have family in both Australia and New Zealand, but probably Australia.

MTVN 08-02-2013 12:29 PM

Canada probably, not sure why but Australia has never really appealed to me despite it being such a popular place for gap years/travelling/emigration

Chuck 08-02-2013 12:36 PM

Canada because my dream is have a "proper" winter with snow etc. :"(

Marc 08-02-2013 12:38 PM

I want the snowy weather too! Heat hates me

MTVN 08-02-2013 12:40 PM

Can see myself being a lumberjack in a nice little log cabin in the middle of nowhere in Canada

Marc 08-02-2013 12:47 PM

You've just described my ideal holiday/life minus the lumberjack'ness

lostalex 08-02-2013 12:54 PM

Canada definitely. I know a few Canucks and they very much have our sense of humour.

They do have a great sense of humour actually and they're so easy going and lots of fun, I worked with a few Canadians in London

It differs with French Canadians though. They don't seem to like Brits too much which is why they fight hard to keep people speaking French.

Not wanting to lose French as their language doesn't mean they're against Britain though, why wouldn't people want to hold onto their language?

One of the girls I worked with was French Canadian, she's lovely, actually the only one I kept in contact with
