Boost in butchers trade.

Excellent news! many people have lost faith in the supermarkets, list's of ingredients on food labelling and 'brand' names mean nothing anymore.

Sticks 20-02-2013 05:52 PM

I seldom by meat at a supermarket and then only proper cuts like chicken legs or pork or lamb chops, and not ready meals, and that is only when I can not get meat from my normal supplier Grainger Market in Newcastle.

All the butchers there use local produce and are independent and some cuts are cheaper than in the supermarket.

On the first Friday of the month I go to a local farmers market.

At the beginning of the month I got some organic mince and last week I made spaghetti bolognaise from scratch, to prove it can be done.

If you learn to cook properly there is no need to ever get one of those dodgy ready meals, and if you know where to shop you don't break the bank.

Good on ya sticks, let's hope many more people support local farmers.
