Oh thank goodness it's not just me then. I felt bad enough that i am not a huggy person as it is. Remember being at the shops not too long ago, and someones neighbour came up and just hugged me whilst I was with them, I was not best pleased at all, but just faked a smile and left it at that, although I am sure I tried to cringe away from them.

I like hugs but all my family are really close and it just seems really right to me anyway.

Someone I have just met though or who hasn't indicated they like hugs then I wouldn't dream of just invading their space and doing so.
To some it is a very natural and friendly thing to do but I do know people who cringe just at the thought.

..yeah, we're a huggy family as well Joey...most of my friends hug as well, but I wouldn't if I felt someone didn't feel comfortable with it....

:joker:At Christmas especially and other times of family gatherings we, my family, have so many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins that by the time you have got round them all it is nearly time for some to leave.

I don't think liking hugging is gender specific haha. I like hugs, I usually limit it to my family though :laugh: also Gav has the best hugs in the world

Aww, you certainly sound huggable. I think lots of men like hugs, they just don't think it's manly to admit it. I find that very sad as I think most women aren't impressed by all that macho nonsense anyway.


I certainly know that little boys tend to be more huggy and affectionate than little girls. I think girls are more independent by nature than boys.

I'm a guy and I hate hugging, it just makes me feel awkward and I always feel like my parents keep watching me whenever someone hugs me.

yes interesting point thats not really addressed in the mainstream. who knows this unaddressed need for more affection for boys could be at the heart of some of the misbehaviour and alienation of young men?

as for those kittens how could anyone not want to hug them?:wavey:
