I've tried to get into this a few times now. I watched the new episode again tonight but it barely holds my attention for the length of the whole episode. There was one bit that made me jump but that was only because the particular scene was set up to do exactly that.
Considering the subject matter i think it should be a lot more interesting and entertaining but i just don't find that it is. I think 'bored', 'underwhelmed' and 'disappointed' are probably the words that best describe the way it leaves me feeling.:bored:

So i saw the first episode of the first Series on TV the other night and i actually really enjoyed it so i watched the next two and it was pretty damn amazing!!!
I think that's been my mistake in the past. I never watched it right from the start and now i have seen the start i realize that it was a stupid idea to try and watch bits here and there and it's no wonder i din't fully appreciate it before!

I've got the first four episodes of Series two so i'm gonna' try and watch those before the next new episode is on later tonight. Hope it's as good as the first Series!

I love Simon and Kieron. The best characters for me.

I've just watched the first episode of Series 2 and i'm just about to watch the second episode so i've only just encountered Simon but Emmett J Scanlan is a fantastic actor and i'm liking Simon so far. It's great that there's a PDS/Undead 'sufferer' who can look after himself and isn't afraid of letting people know what he is. Interested to see where they're gonna' go with his character!
I've always loved Amy too!!! Such a great character that brings so much to the show. I love the relationship she has with Kieren.
I really like Kieren's sister Jem too, even more so since she's seen through the bullsh*t of the HVF and accepted that her love for her brother Ren outweigh's her initial hatred for the 'rotters'. It doesn't hurt that she's well fit either. As shallow as it is there's no denying that it's always a bonus to have at least one cast member that you can swoon over (i actually find Amy quite attractive as well mind, but Jem's my main visual squeeze on the show!).

I think it's definitely, by a long way, the most authentic (in my eyes at least) and grounded attempt at portraying the reality of a 'rising dead' situation and i think that's helped a lot by the area of the UK/World they chose to set the story in.
There's so many rural quirks and a distinctly colloquial feel to the whole thing. A lot of the reactions and attitudes on display in the show could just as easily be worked into a show with a quite different central antagonist (if you get what i mean ?!). It's almost like the PDS sufferers are an extreme metaphor taking the place of people who (in a less extreme sense) are made to feel less than welcome because, in one way or another, they aren't the same as the majority. It actually goes a lot deeper than that but i'm sure those of you who are really enjoying the show are well aware of what i'm rambling on about (or at least i hope you are and i'm not just talking nonsense!). 'I' usually know exactly what i mean but i'm not always the best at finding the right words to clearly or fully express my thoughts and feelings on paper unfortunately.

All in all it's a bloody amazing show and i'm so glad i persevered in my attempts to get into it. It was like i was being drawn to watch it by some outside force or something! It's the best British 'supernatural' (...if you can call it that!) type of show to come out of the BBC (or anywhere else for that matter!) since the earlier Series' of 'Being human' hit our screens all that time back (i think it's at least 5 or 6 years ago now that it started!).

Wonder how long it'll take the Americans to buy the rights to bloody remake this one ? It's probably all done and dusted and in the pre-production stage by now! I could imagine them casting someone like Jake Gyllenhaal to play Kieren (but he'll be called 'Bobby' or 'Chet' or something equally..uh......Amerkin ). Hell, they might wanna' go with someone 'current' like Seth Rogan Or Jonah Hill (apparently he's a real "Ac-Tor" after doing 'Wolf of Wall Street' :laugh3:) and if the worst comes to the worst and they're stuck for someone at the last minute it could end up being..............."Jaden Smith plays DeWayne Walker" :joker:
My apologies...........i haven't had much sleep and i hadn't had a jovial dig at Amerkins for a good hour or so! :smug:

Here we go.....Series 2, Episode 2.......cued and ready to play!

Series 2 Finale starting right NOW!!!!!!
I watched it last night and it was fooking AMAAAAZZZZZING!!! Such a fantastic show!

I love the music they've used in the episodes too. I hadn't heard of Keaton Henson before this show. There's no denying that his music isn't what you'd describe a "feelgood" but it really is beautifully melancholy. If you're not familiar with his stuff google 'You' by Keaton Henson. Breathtakingly beautiful music!!!
