i dont know much about this group so I cant judge them, however i think the guy was just happy thAT someone noticed he was alive...the hugs alone were probably worth more to him than the money..its so hard to get connecttions with people these days, let alone for a chap living on the streets.
so overall it at least achieved that and gave him enough money for a few meals
however on a deeper level, no one listened to a word he had to say, they just talked over him, filmed him , photographed him, treated him like an object etc which is pretty intimidating and intrusive. why do people always have to film everyone? cant they just hold a conversation anymore? you watch them at sports events they cant even concentrate for the whole 2 minutes of an anthem without filming and waving dementedly at the cameras
the bottom line is that tax and benefits should be sufficient that NO ONE ever has to live on the streets.....with bills rising massively as they are we wil see more of this...its cold indoors it must be freezing out there...when i see the homeless which is rare in mid wales, i stop for a chat if they seem friendly, buskers too, we have a good singsong but music is in my blood, im singing permanently, anyways God bless the homeless.
