Even in McDonalds when I have 5p change, I refuse to stick it in the donation box - you can call me ignorant or selfish, but I honestly think it's in Britain's best interest to look out for our own and sort our own ******ing economic problems out first, before trying to help other countries every year.

In School when teachers come round with a bucket for donations I refuse to pay aswell and everyone has a go at me, as Tesco say - every little helps, and in times like these I'd much rather spend my money on something that will benefit me, my family or friends rather than a ******ing charity who seem to look for the same sh*te every year and really don't seem to be making that much progress considering how much they raise.

I watched a doc called 'The trouble with aid' which changed my mind on the whole charity thing to Africa. That they have to pay off gangs to get the money there which cuts straight into the funds anyway and the situations are often exaggerated.

There will probably be buckets round college tomorrow so I will donate there.

Comic relief benefits UK charities. Not all the money goes to help Africa, but I'd still donate regardless.

Hi, I'm an A-list celebrity. I literally earn 100 times more than you do. Please give me a fiver.

Patrick 14-03-2013 08:19 PM

I don't know I guess it just depends on your lifestyle and personal income though - I mean If I was earning thousands and had money to burn, I'd have no problem throwing a few quid their way. [Maybe not to Comic Relief, more so to Cancer Research etc] but the fact is when people are struggling to provide for their own families on a daily basis, surely we need to be a little selfish and put ourselves first.

Not atm, might do though I dunno, I have a tendency to be a selfish bastard and be quite reluctant to part with my pennies

Harry! 15-03-2013 06:22 PM

I donated all the spare change I had at a charity bucket at college today.

Marcus. 15-03-2013 06:23 PM

What the hell does the economy have to do with it, Comic Relief and other charities don't affect our economy in any shape or form. The only way economy can be sorted is down to spending and taxes. There would be an outrage if people were asked to donate extra money to the economy when taxes already exist. You two clearly haven't thought it through properly, such a thick and ignorant argument http://forum.goregrish.com/styles/de.../facepalma.gif
