I don't think somebody who failed all of their GCSE's bar two, could describe themself as intelligent.

Certain subjects I have an insane amount of knowledge in, but they are vastly irrelevant.

I'm great at retaining useless facts and I'm a quick learner,. I don't do well when I'm being told how to do something but if I am shown whilst I do it I pick things up quickly (if that makes any sense)...compared to some I am intelligent but next to others probably a thicko...

In my experience the most intelligent people I know lack common sense so its all relative really.
