Titanic is awful, you should both feel intense and burning shame for your life choices.

Titanic is, and always will be the greatest film of all time. I am not ashamed to say I saw it at the cinema 11 times, once for every oscar went on to win :hmph:

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind really gets me. I know it technically has a happy ending, but when he realises he doesn't want to lose his memories of her and can't do anything about it, it's ridiculously heartbreaking.

I told my mum about it and she's vowed never to watch it, even though I've tried to convince her it's an amazing film.

The Road, both book and movie are very depressing.

The Lovely Bones film wasn't a patch on the book.

Waterworld with Kevin Costner was awful as well.

AnnieK 11-04-2013 05:52 PM

Who will love my children...I think it was a TV movie though

watership down
oh and any of those grim up north movies(with the exception of billy elliott which was great), the rest just awful

Id give titanic 7.5 out of 10

the cinematography wa sawesome. the special effect slooked realistic and didnt go for all this disastrous cartoon looking nonsense.....the story is a typical disgusting depressing english story of class discrimination...frankly we should be ashamed to retell it....the scots and irish built it, the north and the welsh supplied all the coal, steel, copper and wood,,,,then the aristocracy drove it too far too fast just to show off, then they drowned the irish like rats

disgusting

anyone back to the movie

it was about 40 minutes overlong tbh , the dialogue wasnt terrific, winslet was sex on legs but too wooden, leo was pretty good.

7.5 out of 10 brilliantly made movie just needed to work on the dialgue and making the characters a tad more interesting

Firewire 11-04-2013 07:46 PM

brokeback mountain

i watched it for the first time last night and i was a mess. it takes a lot to make me cry, but it easily set me off.

Marsh. 11-04-2013 07:46 PM

Yeah, the dialogue was awful.

I re-watched it last year for the first time in a long time and it made me cringe too many times.

The sinking sequences were very well done special effects wise. And it was quite harrowing when it showed the dead babies in the water, the old couple in bed etc.

But the entire thing was spoiled by the pantomime of the main story and the ridiculously cartoonish villains.

King Gizzard 11-04-2013 07:48 PM

the only thing I really didn't like about that film was Billy Zane

Jake. 11-04-2013 07:51 PM

I remember reading how they made her swim in freezing water when she's swimming along the pipes, gave her hyperthermia or something. The effects in that were and still are top-notch tbf

King Gizzard 11-04-2013 07:53 PM

I remember seeing these in one of those ''how to ruin films'' blogs about seeing films without the effects..
