The expression "jump the shark" doesn't apply here.

They've not done anything drastic, stupid or far removed from what they've done in the past.

The problem is its the same old formula and after nine years it's gone stale.

judging everybody.

No worse than the fact the majority of us still watch BB which is nothing more than bottom of the barrel ****e.

I agree with the central premise of this thread, the Apprentice is now more about personality than business acumen. To make it through to the later tasks you have to have a reasonably high profile. The fact is the quiet candidates and the loudest ones tend to get fired by the 5th or 6th week.

What worries me is that in the first few weeks some of the quieter candidates will be accused of hiding in the pack and may end up being fired for that, but in the event they are not normally quiet only they appear so against a backdrop of really loud strong characters.

I think I used to watch this show a little too realistically when it first began, but then it was apparent in the format, after a few times...the trends would stay the same, but with different people to watch. Classic reality show that should be enjoyed but not overly demanding in terms of extensive emotion, is how I'd half-heartedly define it. If you can get into the characters of *any* program, no matter how formatted the show is, or crap, you'll be able to sate the reality beast. :) Well, IMHO.

The old stale formula was fine when there were actual business people on the show. This bunch of wannabes are only good for superficial entertainment. There's no substance with just about all of them,.

Sophie getting fired for being too quiet and not showing her strengths in 3 tasks where they all lost ¬_¬

Totally agree. LS made it personal once again. He may as well fire half the contestants in the first week, we can tell who he's gonna like and who he's gonna hate.

I imagine Jason won't last long because he's partial to inverse snobbery, and Jason uses big words (not that I'm complaining, I think he's a buffoon).

GiRTh 17-05-2013 02:46 PM

Is Jason the one who claims he is simply superior to the other candidates but never goes in details why? He's such tw*t he'll be gone first time he's in the boardroom.

I think it's been pretty good. Last year's candidates were all business minded instead of being entertainment value and look how boring that series was. Having said that I do think the format change has negatively affected the show a bit
